The Torres that Julio is fighting tomorrow, is he the same one who fought Cotto?

It says on Fight News that Joel Julio is fighting Miguel Jose Torres tomorrow night. Is this the same fighter who knocked Cotto on his ass? If so, this could be a real barn burner, but my fear is that it's a different fighter. Can anyone confirm?

I didn't know Ricardo and Miguel were such similar names.

Cotto fought Ricardo Torres, who as of two months ago or so, was a 140lbs titleholder.

Double where have you been? The Torres you're talking about just got put out cold by Kendall Holt.

I have no idea who the Torres is who's fighting Julio. My guess though is that he's been hand picked, and he wont last long.

Hopefully after this, Julio fights either Kirkland or Angulo. Either one of those matchups would produce great fireworks.

Julio will always get beaten by a good boxer, but he's a threat to anybody who's hittable.

If Cintron-Cotto falls through, I'd LOOOOVE to see Kerm move up, and fight Julio. That would be a great B.A.D fight!

Congrats Double, you got the opponent AND the matchup incorrect. :bears:

Julio's fighting Jose Varela, a 6'0" stinker of a junior middleweight.

Miguel Jose Torres, who to my knowledge is Ricardo's brother, is fighting "Not so Mean" Joe Greene in the co-feature

Never seen Green fight Jake. So he's not the goods? From what Ive heard of him, he sounds like another Kirkland.

Very overrated...even by people who supposedly know their stuff. He's fun to watch, but doesn't pack enough wallop. He's good, but not as good as many make him out to be.

I root for him though. Great guy from what I've seen, and it's not like he has to improve much in order to meet the expectations laid out on him.
