    Yes, he is helping him come to grips with reality and the confusion that often life doesn't always happen the way you wish it would.

    The mousetrap is a metaphor for the cheese that is always just out of reach. Oscar De La Hoya for instance, which somebody already smartly mentioned.

    The ass-fucking is a metaphor for gay sex. LOK can explain this more clearly for you.
