I can't decide. I'm a huge Starling fan who thinks, on one hand, that Marlon absolutely befuddles Ike with his defense and counter punches his way to an easy victory.

On the other hand, a good jab is always a great defense killer and there are few jabs at 140-147 pounds as strong as Quartey's was.

Most of the guys who gave Marlon trouble, starting with the jab, were taller than him. Guys like Curry, Blocker and even Breland had success against Marlon because of their height, reach and long jabs.

I see this fight going 12 with Marlon losing a MD that would be highly disputed.

Good post and a tough one to call.

Starling probably had more of an arsenal and certainly better footwork but Ike's jab alone could freeze guys.

Good post. Quartey's stamina was shit. I see this one going to Marlon but like you said everyone would dispute the decision.

I'll take Starling by UD. He was quicker, and more versatile than Ike, with most importantly.... better stamina.

I'll just ride the bandwagon as well. Ike was a damned good welter but he was pretty predictable and I have a feeling Marlon would figure him out.

NONE ever beat Ike easily. Theres practically no welters in history(outside of Leonard and Hearns) that would beat Ike easily.

I'd favor Starling as well, but Ike would be highly competitive. Quartey was no Honeyghan.
