Who should fight whom at 147

We've been treated to some good fights at 147 recently - fights that should've been made actually got made. If we're lucky enough to get a second round of such fights, what fights would you choose?

I'm thinking specifically about the following fighters:

Cotto
Margarito
Williams
Cintron
Berto
Quintana
Clottey
Mosley

Any others you'd put in the mix? Who should fight whom? Forget about fights that have already been "scheduled." Let's pretend there's nothing planned as of yet.

No way !!! I'll be shocked, absolutely shocked, if PBF goes anywhere near Margarito. It's possible he might have faced Cotto had Cotto won, but I can't see him getting in the ring with Margarito. Not after having turned down the money he did to face ODH a second time.

1st & Foremost, Margarita & Williams Need to have a RE, to Establish just Who Is THE MAN @ 147...Margarita HOLDS that Designation, but a Guy w/a RECENT Win Over him can Dispute that Claim...

Then, if Williams Won, REED Would Insist on a Condom Match btwn Williams & Quintana, for the Sake of CLARITY...Was the 12 Round SCHOOLING a Fluke OR the 1st Round KO???:dunno:

N the Meantime, REED would Pit Cotto Against Cintron, Since Both R Coming Off LOSSES...REED Always Likes it when NEITHER of the Opponents Can Afford a Loss & This would B the Case w/Cotto vs. Cintron...

Sugar Shane has MORPHED into Sort of a Gate Keeper Role, N REED's Opinion...It would SEEM that Zab Judah is that Guy, but a Gate Keeper has to WIN Fights Occasionally...Judah DOESN'T...

As the Welter Gatekeeper, REED Would Match Shane Against Berto OR Clottey...BOTH of them Have Titles & NEED a Name like Shane's on their Resume, yet Shane is Still GOOD Enough to Defeat Either of them (Particularly Berto, N REED's Opinion)...

Obviously Wiliiams vs Margarito 2 must happen.

Berto vs Shane/Zab/Quintana basically, Berto should fight a name at this point to prove if he's any good.

Quintana vs Zab would be a good scrap.

Cotto vs Clottey. Cotto gets a belt back and is back in the mix.

Williams vs Quintana 3. I have a hard time believing a 12 round decision was a Fluke and tend to think Williams 1st round KO was a fluke. These guys have some clearing up to do.

Cintron vs Berto would be fun as would Cotto vs Cintron.

I'll leave Mayweather out of this since he is retired.

 

REED would LIKE for this to Happen, but he's Starting to have his DOUBTS, Brother LOK...

Like DOUB was Saying, WHY Would Floyd Turn Down 15-20 Mil (Minimum) for DeLa, then Come Back & Fight Margarita for No More than 8-10 Mil???...

I can't believe in retrospect that Cotto was favored to beat Margarito, and that De Leon was favored to beat Juan Man. And those of you who picked De Leon and Cotto, you know who you are. I'm not casting stones. I'm simply pointing out that just as sure as LOK is that PBF would whoop Margarito, there were some who were just as sure that Cotto would whoop him too. Point I'm trying to make really is the fight needs to happen. If it doesn't, there's no laurels, no resume, and nothing else that PBF can lay back on that would prove that he could beat Margarito.

I WAS sure that PBF would beat and STOP Hatton but some here didn't think so.. Hatton was to be too big, too strong and TOO relentless!!

and Gatti.. he was WAY too big for little Floyd

It's funny the way boxing can turn out so long as fighters are given the oppurtunity to prove themselves,.. Margarito lost a decision to Paul Williams, but Cotto's son decisively beats him,.. leaving Margarito looking like the turd of the division,..Paul Williams is given an oppurtunity for a rematch and knocks his arse out in one sole round, Margarito eats Cotto's heart and stops him, and Clottey, whom Margarito struggled against, was considered inferior to fucking Zab, by Fraud groupies,... - Clottey made him quit,.. and we knew all this,.. we knew exactly how shit Zab and Scrubdomir was, and we knew how strong and dangerous Williams, Margarito and Clottey all are, :: but these guys were "inferior" .... The fight that needs to be made now is Margarito/Williams II.

 

Good matches. :bears: But I will not put Cotto vs Cintron yet. They both need a couple of gimmie fights before facing each other (the loser must retire if the defeat is via KO). I agree with the Williams vs Margarito rematch. These two need it badly to decide who is the true welterweight champ. Also I agree with a Williams-Quintana rematch. Sure, William knocked him cold in the rematch, but like REED mentioned it could had been a fluke. Who knows? There should be a rematch and soon, not five years from now. Shane can beat both Berto & Clottey. They are not at his level even at this point of his career.

I doubt Double L was saying Roy had no chance in hell against Julio Gonzales like everyone seemed to say about Margarito before the Cotto fight.

It's one thing to pick a guy to win and be wrong, but most gave Margarito no chance at all.

I doubt very many picked Gatti over Floyd. ::::It would have been 90/10 for Floyd. From what I remember, most people thought this would be an execution.

 

Most people figured Mayweather would beat Gatti pretty easily, though I think more people thought it'd be a wide 12 round UD, maybe a stink-out effort from PBF, rather than a vicious beating.
