Kimbo vs Brett Rogers. I can't believe they are actually going to make the fight. Not that Rogers is anyone special, he's green too, but he's looked a lot better than Kimbo has.
What? Shaw started promoting the fight literally minutes after the Kimbo-Thompson fight. I think Rogers is the perfect choice. If Kimbo blows him out, then the Kimbo train keeps rolling. If Rogers wins, Gary Shaw still has an undefeated HW on his hands. Personally, I think Rogers is perfect fodder for Kimbo. He's a striker who will trade. It should actually be an exciting fight while it last.
I knew it would happen at some point, I just expected shaw to keep feeding both of them bums for a while longer to hype it more. Two undefeated HW's are better than one from a marketing standpoint. Who am I to complain though, it's a good fight and as a fan I will enjoy it. Not sure Kimbo wins this one though. We will see I guess.
Rumor has it that Sean Gannon may be next for Kimbo. Kimbo is a joke, really. It's actually down to Rogers, Gannon or Ken Shamrock. Funny thing is, I wouldn't make Kimbo a favorite over ANY of them.
The man fought in the street not too long ago. Now he headlines top MMA shows. Love him or hate him, you have to respect him.
How is Kimbo a joke? The guy has 3 legit MMA fights under his belt. He's like any other green, beginner. The only reason to call him a joke is if you are pissed because he has the YouTube notoriety. That's not his fault, but unfortunately it makes people judge him more harshly. Personally I like Kimbo versus Shamrock or Gannon. Ken is shot and way too small to use his ground advantage versus Kimbo. Shamrock has been destroyed by strikers with less power than Kimbo recently. Gannon will never happen. Kimbo walks right through him now. Rogers is the only match-up of the three that interest me. Rogers is hungry and is a tough guy. It would be a fun scrap.
Right. Because I see things for what they are? Kimbo is simply not very good at he is OLD to be starting out in mma. If he is going to amount to anything he needs to be tested not fed bums. Let's compare Kimbo with another green fighter. Lesnar. He's fighting real guys, not the cans that Kimbo is facing. Sure he lost to Mir but I have a ton more respect for a guy like Lesnar who really wants to test himself and come up the hard way than a guy like Kimbo who is way too protected and is facing nobodies.
I'll respect him when he steps into the ring with a real fighter. I guarantee you he isn't fighting Rogers next. Now way, no how
What the fuck is wrong with you dude? This is a forum to debate and you start slinging personal insults when I don't think a fighter is any good? You need to stop being such a fan boy and relax. Other people aren't going to have your same opinion, deal with it. Go to sherdog with the rest of your kind.
Looks like it's going to be Shamrock they're reporting now. When the hell is Cung Lee fighting again? Has he fought since he broke that one dudes arm?
Yep, it's Ken Shamrock. Who has lost his last 5 by stoppage. I still think he's got a great chance to win here though. Kimbo's ground game is non existant. Ken iif nothing else has a decent ground game. If he's smart, he will shoot right away and take it to the ground. I'm not sure what's up with Cung Le. There is a strike force event sometime soon but he's not fighting on it. Not sure when he'll fight again. He definitely needs to be more active. Both he and Frank Shamrock haven't fought since, but it's understandable for Frank as he had a broken arm.
Per your original post, do you rate Franklin #3 or Filho #3? I ask because you have them both listed as #3 when Franklin's had a few crushing losses and Filho hasn't. Surprised nobody caught this before. This is the first time I read it.
He's on the same level as James Thompson who manged to get Kimbo down and pound the shit out of him. Ken has submissions though, if he gets Kimbo down Kimbo is done. I know he is beyond shot, I'm not disputing that at all. I'm simply saying that Kimbo sucks and could lose to this shot version of Ken Shamrock.
Shamrock is beyond shot. But if the money line is right, I may have to lay a few bucks on him. Straight up I won't take the bet. But I will play the odds. TFK
I just read that Karo had to pull out of his fight tomorrow due to injury. The dude is watching potential and promise go down the drain. Should still be a great card.
And Silva hurt his back and is out of the fight against Machida. That sucks as I was REALLY looking forward to that fight. TFK
You've got to be shitting me.. My boy Machida is never going to get a title shot. Are they scrapping Machida from the card or will they toss in a replacement for Silva? Bisping and Jardine are solid, but the Machida-Silva battle of unbeatens was the selling point for me.
