It's for the title; it's gonna be set for 5 rounds. It'd be stupid for Brock to protest it because every UFC champion, regardless of their weight division, defends their title with a championship title match set for 5 rounds.

 

Couture/Lesnar is official. Nobody is protesting. I'm anticipating this match for real except I really hope it's 5 rounds. Super strong Lesnar vs the savy veteran in Couture. Can't wait. Couture's gonna pull out all the stops, from his Greco, to his takedowns, to his dirty boxing....it's gonna be wild. There is nobody whom Couture cannot take down. It's going to come down to experience.

 

Did you get all mad when Fedor fought Hong Man Choi who had only 1 MMA fight? What's a guy with 1 MMA fight doing challenging the great Fedor?

The fact is, it's all about the money. In MMA and in boxing. This is a huge fight, and that is the only reason they need to make it. I personally want to see it, and I don't care what Lesnar did to earn it. If he wins he earned it.

What about Zulu? He fought Fedor in his 4th MMA fight.


Just take it for what it is, a good fight. I don't get wrapped up in the who deserves what. I just like good fights.

Nope. Couture is a good wrestler, but size and strength is going to play a huge role in this fight. I just don't like this fght for Couture at all. I think he gets smashed.

 

Its not about PRIDE it about MMA and those two fighters have been the most consistent/best fighters in the Heavyweight class ....its a fact.

 

Nog didn't look consistent or great in his last two outings against Herring and Sylvia. When you consider how bad Fedor made Sylvia look and how bad Lesnar made Herring look, Nog loses a little luster. I said "a little".

That being said, I love the idea of the Mir-Nog winner fighting the Couture-Lesnar winner.

My money says we get Couture-Nog for the undisputed UFC title. Great fight.

 

If the two winners are gonna face off for the undisputed title, hopefully the two losers fight each other on the same card.

Learn how to read.I said this fight shouldn't be for the championship I never said the fight should never happen.Lesnar's getting a title shot because of him name alone its a fact.

 

Couture is the champion, so the fight is gonna be for the title. A Non-Title fight doesn't make sense.

And if not Brock, who else? Mir and Nog are locked into their fight because of TUF. Who should've gotten the shot? Herring? He just got dominated by Brock. Kongo? He just lost to Herring? Gonzaga? Already lost to Couture. Eddie Sanchez?

With Couture back, what would you have done instead of a Lesnar fight? And it's gotta be something that makes sense financially.

The UFC is a business, and Couture\Lesnar is a GREAT business move. Do you wonder why the UFC is the only MMA company making major dollars?

No matter what you call it, it's a fan-friendly fight. Big names, big histories, and big guys.

 

It does make sense because Brocks done nothing to deserve a title shot in the first place.If they want to make some money and make this fight happen fine but it shouldn't be for the belt....Oh yeah Fabricio Werdum resume in the UFC shits on Lesnars.

 

Neither fighter is entertaining.I don't see it being as such.I'm expecting a snoozer.

He's more deserving of a shot than Lesnar, but he's still garbage.

With that said. I like the fight. I see Lesnar getting smarter and smarter in there. The great thing for him in this fight is his weakness is submission defense, Randy is not a submission fighter. Both have there strengths in wrestling and Brock is just bigger, stronger, and younger. Great matchup for Brock, style wise anyway.

I just hope the winner of the Nog/Mir and the winner of Randy/Lesnar fight. It would make a great matchup for the winner of it all to fight Fedor and bring a huge payday for many people. Including Dana and the UFC. I just see it not happening in the end. I don't think Dana will budge on the mandatory contract with Fedor.

BTG, I get what you are saying about Lesnar deserving a shot. But it would be stupid for the UFC to make the fight a non-title fight from a business position. I don't think anyone on this board would disagree.:dunno:
