It's just interesting to see which side people fall on.

    From Nigel Collins, Ring Magazine:

    From Kevin Iole, Yahoo!:

I'm actually surprised Iole went that route, but like I said before, we'll see how he changes his tune once GBP blackballs him. I suspect articles on "how the fight is growing on him" within a month.

The latest issue of Boxing Monthly discussed this event in their editorial page. Their preview was basically along the lines of Iole.

Not surprising to see Nigel Collins continue to shill for his bosses.

Seems like the type of fight where people view it one way or another, not a lot of middle ground.

Yet that's where I end up. I don't think it's the worst thing ever, and I'm not ashamed to say I'll be excited as the first bell rings, but it does annoy me. I'm getting sick of Oscar and I wanted to see Pacquiao fight a bunch of the guys closer to his size. I don't know if he'll be able to get back down comfortably if he tries to become a welterweight for December.

I think the build up will be fun and it's one of those fights where I'm already trying to picture in my head how they will look in the ring together.

on top of it DLH got some bone in his face broken!

It's interesting you mention Boxing Monthly, considering that I think Ring Magazine went down considerably after Farhood left the mag.

I used to read BM at times when I could find it on the newstand at the local Tower Books/Records, but that closed down a while ago.

Collins has kissed DLH's ass for years...now it's just part of his job description.

yeah, BM is the last remaining mag to which I subscribe. People still refer to The Ring as "the leader" mainly from tradition, but the fact is that BM kicks their ass across the board (and pond).

    More up to date
Better writing (though any pub that boasts Graham Houston is going to have a running head start)
    Cheaper
    More worldwide coverage

Not sure what more you can ask for from a magazine.

BM is a great magazine. I had never read it before recently. It was never in the stores I went to before.

I wanna see an unconscious DLH and have Pac Man sqaut over him and lay a stringy, Stinky, long, skinny, corn filled, steaming terd.. right in DLH's mouth!

then when he comes to.. have Pac punch him in the stomach and he'll cough and hopefully swallow the terd

is tim smith really naive enough to believe margarito or williams would be as lucrative an opponent for delahoya as pacquaio?

Williams wouldn't be in the same ballpark as Pacquiao money-wise.

I'm not sure how well DLH-Margarito would do. Maybe not Pacquiao numbers, but I think it would probably do very good numbers.

Still, both were always unrealistic because they're far greater challenges to DLH, who might have more difficulty with the weight scale in December than Pacquiao.
