Why not merge General Discussion and Mythical Matchups into one?

Mythical Matchups is dead at this moment. I like talking mythical matchups. In many forums the mythical matchups are just part of the general boxing discussion. I think it would be very good for this site. What do you think?

 

I was going to post this last week. I think it's a good idea. I say merge!!!:hammert:

 

I voted no because I saw someone in there go on a tear of about 8-9 topics in a row. If the poster would refrain from doing that, I'm all for it.

 

Yeah, just wait til Planet Roy goes into full effect in Novmeber...or Mayweather returns.

If I remember correctly, MM was made because it was ruining the flow of the general discussion forum.

 

I am absolutely sure that the activity of the general forum will increase when the merge takes place. I like Mythical Matchups but I never go there because no one hardly posts there. I think many members like me like mythical matchups. I think we should give it a try. You can always change it back if it isn't succesfull. Why keep a dead forum?

Having good activity is essential for this site. People come back once in a while to read reactions. If there are no new reactions, the user will have no reason to come back. More activity will lead to higher customer satisfaction and recurring business. It will eventually even attract more members. I think this is worth a shot.

 

Well here's a better solution than the one you came up with. Go there.

I actually like the fact that the 2 are seperated. On days when GD is dragging I can waste of few seconds of my day by clicking on MM realizing it's even deader than GM and then just hit the back tab.

Basically all the other threads are dragging. What's the solution for that merge MMA while we're at it too? I say everything is just fine the way it is but that's my opinion.

I am not seeing any valid arguments against the merge.

Merging the two forums would DEFINITELY increase the activity. I would like to see arguments why the activity shouldn't increase. I think fightbeat staff should AT LEAST try it for a while. The MM forum stays open but it is allowed to start mythical matchup discussions in the boxing forum aswell as long as it is boxing related. Mythical matchups is a wonderfull aspect of boxing. It is sad to see the subsection is in such a bad condition.

 

can we at least post mythical fantasy matchups about other stuff like a T-Rex vs 20 bigfoots? shit like that?

Than you just stay out of them:dunno:No one forces you to read them. There are always aspects of boxing discussion that some member doesn't like. I do not see the added value of having a seperate Mythical Matchups forum. Should we have a "future boxingmatches forum" or "boxing results" forum aswell? Mythical matchups is an essential part of boxing. People like to compare fighters from different eras and different weightclasses. We all have fighters that we admire and would like to know how they would have faired against some other great fighters in history.

 

This forum is for talking about boxing, today, yesterday...whenever. Because of the fact that people like to talk about MM's...we have a forum for it and its not changing back for the very reasons you laid out.

I people dont want to read them, they dont log into the forum. Simple.
