Yeah and after that first fight, there was no reason for a rematch really, result not withstanding.

I am much more interested in seeing Williams/Margarito 2 than Williams/Pavlik. Williams could easily get a fight with Shane or Clottey. A fight with Cintron would be very entertaining. Quit worrying about 160 and clear out 147 where you actually have a belt.:bangh:

I'd like Williams to stay at 147 given how loaded it is, but if Arum plays keep away with Margarito and Cotto it limits the number of oppoents out there because I doubt Mosley's very interested in that fight, and a Berto clash would be very unlikely given who's in their camps...and Cintron is rehabbing on the comeback trail.

Clottey is one of the few quality names that might be available in November outside of a third bout with Quintana.

If neither happen, I wouldn't mind seeing Williams try to get one of the 154 pound champs, without first relinquishing his 147 belt. But not 160, tha'ts a little high to jump right now when Pavlik's about to fight at 170.

However, middleweight is a very shallow division at the top, so I view Williams as a better option than some of the "contenders" at the weight.

Good post, especially the point about 160 being shallow at the top. I really don't see him beating Pavlik at all....right now at 160. But I do think he is talented enough to beat Abraham. Paul needs a great manager right now. He has a chance of really paving out a great career for himself if handled right. I would love to see him get one more fight against Margarito. If he beats Marg again, he really can leave 147 and claimed to have owned it beings Margarito destroyed Cotto. I know its a bit of "he beat the guy that beat the other guy", but if Cotto doesn't want to fight, you can't blame Paul for leaving. I think Paul could go through 154 in about an 18 month time frame collecting at least 2 of the abc trinkets. All the time allowing his body to properly be weight trained to make the move to 160. If Kelly is still there by then, it would really set up a mega fight. Great for Paul, great for boxing, great for the fans.:bears:
