I guess the card is not high profile enough for the elitist puerto rican to do one of these threads. Yuriorkis Gamboa vs. Marcos Ramirez Alfredo Angulo vs. Andrey Tsurkan Sergio Gabriel Martinez vs. Alex Bunema what do you think?
3 hours later..and no predictions...the guys who are suppose to win...will win...thats is all.... NOW next week...will be good....:hammert:
Yeah, this card seems more along the lines FNF or Shobox. I'm kinda curious on how many of these showcase events Shaw is going to get on HBO. I agree with you that Showtime has put together one of the better nights of boxing this year next Saturday.
another....useless fight...if they had all 3 hbo fights....juanma fight..and abraham fight all in the same card on.....Free tv..or fuck it HBO..then it will be interesting...but Juanma ppv..abraham ppv...:::: fuck that!!
my picks on record going in were Gamboa by KO in 5 or less, Angulo by mid-rounds KO and Martinez by UD. So far, Martinez looks like he's well on his way to a stoppage. Seven rounds in, and Bunema was warned by the ref to show something or else they're stopping it it. Round 8, he hasn't shown anything, but the fight is still going on. Bunema looks near death on his stool, and his corner is talking round 9 strategy. Terrible... thank goodness the doctor finally stopped it.
I think Tsurkan will prove tougher than most people think, but I still favor Angulo by late round stoppage Cupey
Good at showboating. I think he´ll get ktfo by a straight right hand against a more skilled fighter.
He is good, theres no doubt of that. But HBO was hyping the shit outta him, comparing him to RJ and what not.
WHo gives a shit what they say. He's a really, really good fighter, who has been ignored for way too long.
Jesus Christ! First Max compares Martinez to RJ, now he compares Angulo to Chavez. I wouldnt be surprised if he compares Gamboa to Kid Gavilan.
Indeed. To your credit, you're the one cat (or at least one of the very few) whose been speaking his name for more than a little while. He looked damn good tonight. As X alluded to, not quite as great as HBO suggested, but enough to give whatever's regarded as the top 154 lb. players cause to pause before looking his way.
Yep. Hysterical that Lampley keeps calling this a war when all of the pain is one way. Tsurkan's hanging in there, but landing few meaningful punches and is slow as hell.
shitty night of fights, only one sided traffic as of now, and the Kimbo fight was HUGELY disapointing
That was HUGELY awesome, but that ref is a cunt, so is the corner and the doctor. Okay you got the over covered leave the poor guy alone.
