Right now I'd pick Calzaghe by decision. And not just in Wales but in some neutral territory like US, Germany or such. Prime for prime Ottke by UD anywhere, any time

Ottke was a beast, i doubt Calzaghe could handle his assaults. Remember what he did to Mundine, who laughed at Kessler's best shots.

This is astonishment - Calzaghe would beat Ottke I think now. Ottke has a collapsed lung and has gain maybe 20 kilos siince the death of his dog. This is cruel even. I think in the prime it is an even contest in Germany.

The Mundine stoppage is about the ONLY real achievement that mook had. He had the power of a gnat- wasn't his record something like 11 KO's in about 30-odd fights?

    A beast indeed...

Besides, Ottke was an utter coward and a borderline cheat. If memory serves, Robin Reed had about three points taken off him for having the absolute temerity to throw jabs at Ottke.

Calzaghe would beat the shit out of him now. Back 'in the day', Calzaghe would STILL have beaten the shit out of him.

This thread has taught me one thing.

    Europeans are retarded.

Sven Ottke sucked out loud. A fight between him and Allan Green is a toss up on paper, prime for prime.

I hope you haven't seen that fight. Otherwise, you might have very little left in terms of your vision. Johnson won that fight easily.

I've seen the fight. and the post fight interveiw, where Johnson says that Ottke was a much better boxer than he thought, and he had no problem with the decision. Johnson has been ripped off in plenty of fights, but this wasn't one of them.

Close decision win for Ottke= in all reality, lost

Wide decision win for Ottke= Lots of points deducted by referee for opponent throwing punches at Ottke, otherwise, in all reality lost

KO win for Ottke (6 BIG wins out of 34 total 'wins')= More rare than Halley's Comet (though Ottke was, of course lest we forget, a 'beast')
