I haven't seen enough of Buchanan provide an analysis. From the little i have seen Ken presents problems for Alexis stylewise.
Arguello punches him in the balls and is soon thereafter regarded as the greatest lightweight of all time
Yawn, you lot sound like bitter Scotsmen!:: That's all we hear about here regarding Buchanan .....how he was 'robbed' by the cheating Duran who was 'too scared' to ever rematch him. It makes for a great wee piece of Scottish sporting mythology (we love our gallant nearly men) if you neglect to mention that Duran won almost every damn round prior to that and was absolutely tearing him apart. Anyway, my compatriot was a good fighter, easily good enough to hang with Alexis @ 135. Close fight, but I'll go with Arguello KO 14.
Duran was beating that quitters ass. Fuck Ken Buchanan. Arguello stops him in the middle rounds anyway.
Two great boxers. Alexis is probably the most classical fighter I have ever seen, and one of my top ten favorites ever. But I gotta call 'em as I see 'em, and I see Buchanan being all wrong style wise for him. A very tough one to call here as Alex had severe problems with guys that moved on him, guys like Vilomar Fernandez. I am going to have to pass on a pick here, but I will say that years ago KO magazine did a lightweight tournament, and this match up was one of them and Buchanan was picked as the winner on points.
