    Post fight recap from Tarver:

I fought my fight, he was busier, I blocked most of it. I was off balance during the knockdown.

Tarver gave him all the opportunities in the world with his slow uncoordinated sloppy weak armpunches, but in the end he even outworked Dawson over the last two rounds, which is the sad state boxing is in. Talks all the shit about the grandpa and doesn´t even have the balls to close the show, while the old man has to come forward to make the fight watchable down the stretch.

Tarver fought well, he couldn't really set down on his punches, hard to believe he so drastically KOED Roy. But Dawson was ripping him all night. Jooney is right Tarver will be sore. Nothing to be ashamed of though, the kid was just too much for him and Neil is right.

He closed his eyes and threw a big left hand on occasion but Chad wasn't in the process of throwing his own left hook and leaning into it.

Man I had a feeling Tarver would lose thanks to his own sucktitude but everyone kept telling me Dawson wasn't good enough.

Yeah people lied, Dawson is the shit. :hammert:He's a bit vulnerable because of his defense and chin but his handspeed and offensive skills are very good.

1 Thing Tarver NEVER Did was PUNCH When Dawson Punched...He'd COVER as Dawson Flurried, then Try to Respond, but he NEVER Opened Up As Dawson was Firing...

N the RE w/Roy, McGuirt CONSTANTLY Reminded Tarver to Punch WHEN Roy Punched...

As a Result, Tarver CAUGHT Roy N an Exchange & the Rest is History...He Even Hurt Roy N the 3rd Fight by Punching WHEN Roy Punched...

True he used his legs a bit to much for my liking tonight to be honest. Still Dawson's defense is a bit leaky at times.

I agree, except I'm not down with the multi-colored hair thing. And they have to realize that Dawson's wife is pregnant also. And it looks like not too long ago that she had one previously based on one of the kids she was holding during the fight. But I must say it was slightly enjoyable seeing all of the shots of Tarver's wife in the background ringisde while her husband was getting his ass whipped. She seemed just a bit cocky and arrogant before the fight in the interview and then with all of her number one finger posing and what not.

Dawson was awesome last night, yeah he has some vulnerabilities but it adds to the viewing pleasure and makes him a more entertaining fighter. I like this guy. :bears:

Also, I was very surprised to see Peter shamelessly quit like that. That's one of the worst quit job I've seen, there's no doubt he could have continued. He was dominated but that's not a good enough reason to quit like that without being criticized. His stock diminished considerably last night.

Agreed it was pitiful. Open scoring contributed I think, knowing he had lost every round discouraged him and gave him the reason he needed. But to me, Peter didn't quit at the end of the 8th, he quit 5 months earlier the moment he decided he wasn't gonna train to have the stamina or the foot speed needed to pursue the tactics he must have known in advance he would need to employ if Vitaly was anywhere near his best. His behaviour in the ring from the first bell to the quit was just a continuation of that loser mentality. Calling that guy a champion sullies the word.

What's needed is to start testing a heavyweight boxers body fat in the same way lighter weight fighters are weighed in; take half his purse if it's over 15% like if a lightweight was a few lb over and just stop him fighting all together if it's over 20%. That'd sort the division out in one fell swoop. Bang. It'd be a golden era again within 5 years. Until then we are being robbed of our time and money watching this shit stink division.

My wife said that too ... must be a woman thing.

That being said ... Tarver's wife sure doesn't hurt my eyes to look at.

She reminds me a little of a young Holly Robinson. :bears:

Agreed on all points. I think the open scoring did contribute to his quitting but it's certainly no excuse. He was fighting in Germany in front of a heavily partisan crowd. Even if the fight was at all close he shouldn't have concerned himself too much with the cards.

Peter made Rocky Juarez look like Israel Vazquez. Absolutely no passion.

I'm sure team Peter will "reveal" he had an injury an illness or some such nonsense to try to save face. It will fall on deaf ears though.

He was in against a 37 year old injury prone guy and followed him around eating punches. He didn't do ANYTHING.

You have to give Klitschko some credit, it's not all about Peter's inadequacy but he didn't even try. Pathetic is the perfect word to sum up his "performance".

Manny Pacquiao probably would have provided a tougher test.

At first glance, I thought it was Rudy from the Cosby Show. If you've seen her, you know she's grown up nicely. She's very good looking.

Does anyone know what the punchstats were in the Klitschko fight?
It seemed like a record % of punches were landing.
