Holyfield didn't fight immediately for a title.

And neither did Moorer, who moved up from light heavyweight. He didn't get respect right when he stepped up. It took him several fights and a couple years just to fight for the discounted WBO belt (which had no where near the standing it does now).

Neither did James Toney, Vassily Jirov, Juan Carlos Gomez, etc.

What you said was Haye was "a real treat".

    He hasn't actually proven that.

He hasn't shown anything at heavyweight to support that claim.

Toney, by the time of the offer, had proven he was a legit heavyweight contender...and he was much more known in the States.

I'm not arguing out of love or hate for Toney. He called out the Klitschko's before and turned down an offer to fight one of them. Him doing it again is beyond farcical. It's pathetic.

At least Haye will sign to fight Wlad after calling him out. The sides have already talked about making that fight if they both win.
