I bought the recent Ring magazine and they have a pretty cool section on the Hall of Fame, where they do a write up on different fighters that have HOF potential. They divide it into categories, Sure-Shot, Probably, Maybe, No Chance, Too Soon to Tell For the most part the lists are pretty good, except they put Jermain Taylor in the NO CHANCE category!! I can't believe it! Not only is it realistically too soon to tell, but the guy can FIGHT! Like it or not he holds at the very worst two close fights with a top p4p guy Hopkins, plus not a bad string of dominant victories. If he can get it back together he certainly has a chance at winning more titles and getting HOF status... It just annoys me how underrated he's always been...
I think it has more to do with how they perceive the rest of his career will go. Jermain has spoken of retirement and not being interested in boxing anymore on a few occasions already. If he's mentally packed it in, it's doubtful he'll have any more big wins that would put him in HOF contention. (and that's if even continues boxing)
Jermaine Taylor's victories come as a big pair of wobbling tits to me,.....it's worth mentioning that Hopkins is Taylor's running dog,.. he owns him, he's tagged him, he's released him,... and whatever the wild rat bastard gets up to, it is upon the master, to take responsibility for him, and we'll do just that.
