Joe Calzaghe vs Michael Spinks at 175lbs

I know my boy Xplosive and many like him are going to say something like:

Spinks TKO Calslappy 5

But I don't agree that this is an easy fight for Spinks AT ALL. Calzaghe is a very very very good fighter: fast, tough, lots of stamina, awkward, innovative, adjustable..and has decent power too.

I'd pick Spinks only because "A good big'un beats a good little'un"....but I pick him to win by decision and not KO.

Dunno if Spinks was much bigger, what with day before weigh ins and all. Anyway, I'd go with Spinks as well, close fight over 15.

 

Mike would have no trouble at all finding Joe with the Jinx, and Calz wouldnt be able to handle too many of them. Spinks KO 5. Not a TKO either. I mean Joe would be OUT.

 

Also Sly... its pretty easy to see your agenda behind this thread. Slappy beat B-Hop, therefore your trying to overrate Joe. Nice try. Spinks would blast the fuck outta Joe!

And Spinks would have stretched Pavlik inside of 3.

 

Day before weigh-ins or not, Spinks was a bigger man than Joe. But more than being a bigger man, he was simply a better fighter than Joe also.

 

Max Kellerman picked Calzaghe to win this matchup. I do not.

 

Spinks via decision. Hard to give Calzaghe the benefit of the doubt, considering the circumstances. I also have to say I think Spinks was a better man, in addition to being a bigger one. 8-4, 116-111, with Calzaghe hitting the deck in the third.
