Gave up after a knockdown in the first round with an arm injury... I've been saying he's done for years now and he's also one of the biggest disgraces in boxing ever... Glad i put a lil something on Austin @ +250 McCline Also edged Mollo...
LOL, just watched the fight. Golota actually went down from the very first punch Austin threw. He got up and Austin started beating him up so Golota started looking at the ref to step in which he didn't do. golota then started hanging his left arm down (though at times he forgot it was hurt and threw punches with it). Late in the round Austin hurt him again and pummeled him against the ropes. Between rounds Golota's bicep got so bad that he had to quit:atu:

He fell on his right arm when he was knocked down but somehow he hurt his left arm. :nono: The Polish people must be proud.
What's amazing is that Chris Byrd and John Ruiz were so despised during their title runs that Golota actually had noticeable public support - at least on the sites I went on - for both of those fights.
i thought he beat both of those guys. at any rate, he appears to be shot at this point, mentally and apparently physically. the only reason he probably didn't melth down against Byrd and Ruiz is that neither one punches too hard, and in Ruiz's case, he gave Golota plenty of resting time with all of his holding. Golota panics big time when he gets tired. It's too bad. He was once one of my favorite fighters due to his wins over Pouha (he was the original biter, not Tyson), his win over Sanders, his fights with Bowe, and his exposure of Grant. His days are done now though. He's gotta know it. Although he might just be stupid enough to keep fighting even having lost to an uncoordinated slob.
Well, if he gets injured in every loss, he needs to learn how to not get injured. "Gets Injured" of course, refers to "losing due to freezing like a deer in headlights when he gets in trouble" :bangh:
Whats so amazing about it? Golota over the years has actually been in exciting fights. In fact, he was involved in one of the best heavyweight slugfests of all time(the Bowe rematch). Whilst Ruiz & Turd are two of the biggest eye cancers the division has ever seen.
He's quit in, or found ways out,of, most of them. I just always found it funny that there were two titlist around that were far more disliked by the public than a fighter with the rep of Golota.
The way Ruiz fights IMO is JUST as disgraceful as Golota's quit jobs. Andrew is a quitting pussy for sure, but in his prime he at least gave us some very entertaining fights. Ruiz on the other hand is the MAIN reason why the heavyweight division got a terrible reputation. If Ruiz got hit by a car and died tomorrow.... few would care.
Awesome new punch. It was like the opposite of an uppercut. It was the sort of punch a puppy might throw.
