    Povetkin still IBF mandatory!

IBF president Marian W. Muhammad wrote: “Mr. Povetkin will remain in the No. 1 position in the heavyweight rankings. As Wladimir Klitschko has elected to fight the next leading available contender to complete his mandatory, If Klitschko retains the title on December 13, Povetkin should fight in a mandatory within the next nine months.â€￾

Rahman was the leading available contender. That is just wrong.

Oh well. Povetkin should have found a way to get to fight night instead of sitting on the sideline.

What's wrong with it? He's still guaranteed his shot. It's not fair to Wladimir (THE CHAMPION) if they mandated that he face Potvekin in 6 months IMO.

are you arguing that Povetkin should no longer be #1? Or that Rahman should satisfy a mandatory defense?

If it's the latter, then you're not reading this correctly. Giving him nine months to fight Povetkin is basically acknowledging this fight as an acceptable mandatory defense. Not to mention that he's not obligated to fight Povetkin next... nine months gives him plenty of time for an optional defense in between (HOPEFULLY against Valuev or Chagaev).

neither... the motherfucker has the nerves to think that Mr. stumble over roots should get his shot faster than that.

Like he or his team is so overanxious about it...

Damn, if that's the case, then even Povetkin's handlers disagree with him.

Continuing past the point our fine friend apparently stopped reading:

I know they are not overly depressed that the fight won't take place in December already. Out of Povitkin himself, Hrunov and the fans, Elterrible is probably the second optimist person regarding the Russian's chances to beat Wlad. Closely ahead Kalle Sauerland...

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We´ll be at the fight, I´ll bring the Tarver/Jones victory cigar for old times sake, and then you´ll learn to believe, AGAIN. :kick::lol:

..and just for the record, that Rahman can serve as a mandatory is ridiculous. What has he done in the past 3-4 years besides getting ktfo by Oleg Maskaev.

Ignoring knowledge and indulging in echolocation.
Hasim Rahman has a head like a bear and is armed with rather plump sexy guns, he's in with a chance, then again,...Wlad, with his glass chin and white skin, everyone can be a winner if they play thier cards right.

A Haye fight might be more likely than either.

Dsimon might actually get his wish and see Klitschko-Haye get made before Klitschko-Povetkin.
