This is about as quiet as I can remember them being this close to one of his fights.

Is it possible that even they can't get excited about this fight?

This could be the first HBO fight that I'll miss on purpose since I started watching boxing.

Hatton seems to be almost done, and i can't stand Malignaggi. I could care less about this fight. If i hear that Paulie gets a beating or stopped i might download it afterward.

Probably not going to happen though. Hatton by decision in a stinker.

REED HASN'T Planted his Flag N Hatton's Yard, but REED DOES Like the Cat...

The Thing is, he's CLEARLY PAST his Best...Even Hatton's BIGGEST Fans Probably WOULDN'T B Surprised if he LOST to Malignaggi...Stylistically, Paulie CAN Make Hatton Look VERY Bad w/Out EVER Hurting him...

& w/his OWN Style & LACK of Discipline btwn Fights, Hatton was NEVER Going to have LONGEVITY on the Elite Level Anyways...He's Still THE GUY @ 140, but the Clock is TICKING....

I think he's the guy at 140 in name only.

If he fights the other top guys at the weight, I think he loses that claim.

But I don't really consider Malignaggi at that level, and if Hatton wins he's probably fed to DLH next Cinco de Mayo...sombrero and all.

Hatton is borderline shot, and a lot of fans that used to like his action style have gone off him through the incessant holding etc, including me.

I couldn't give a toss about any hatton fight now to be honest, he's just not exciting anymore, but especially against Malignaggi.

Can you see anything other than an UGLY, boring fight? I don't care about this fight at all.

.....it is hard to get too excited cos i don't think a win over Mallinaggi will turn that many heads....Paulie's stock rose in defeat vs Cotto but he's hasn't pushed on like some thought he would

....the most intriguing factor about this fight is the influence of Mayweather Sr.....i think the appointment is a gamble and i look forward to seeing if it pays off or backfires

i think it will be a decent fight to watch.....Hatton can often spoil his own work with the wrestling....Paulie shouldn't have the power to worry him, and i think Mayweather would encourage cleaner work as well........Paullie primarliy is a mover, but he is prepared to get stuck in and trade as well.....it doesn't strike me as being a FOTY candidate....but could turn out to be a good clash of styles

Ive gone back n forth in my mind as to who's gonna win this fight, but I guess for my FINAL prediction I'll go with Hatton by decision. I'll be rooting for Paulie, and if he wins I wont be at all surprised, but I have a feeling his hands will never be 100% again. Plus I think he'll fade in the late rounds. It'll be an ugly fight, but Hatton will win.

Co-sign. If i had confidence in Paulies hands i would pick him to win for sure.

I hope I'm wrong, cause if Paulie wins I think he'll want to unify and fight the likes of Bradley, or Holt. I dont think Hatton has any intentions of fighting the best guys at 140.

yep, that has turned me off Hatton too....he is so clearly not a welterweight yet he can't resist the lure of money that exists more in the division above where he belongs

i wouldn't mind some hype behind this fight....see how Hatton is looking in training and how the weight is coming off
    how Paulie's hands are looking

Paulie is like a 3:1 underdog so there could be money to be won here :cheer:

i also see Hatton talking about how he'll outbox Paulie with his new boxing skills thanks to the new trainer :atu:

if he's for real and anyone can confirm that he's doing all this mayweather shit in training then Paulie could be a very easy pick

That's a pretty good price, actually.

Hatton is borderline shot; his footspeed and handspeed have almost gone, his jab has vanished into the night and he looks far more vulnerable around the whiskers than he ever has before.

It's hard to get excited for a fight that you know will be an eyesaw to watch; Paulie shouldn't have enough pop to hurt Hatton (though at this stage of Hatton's career, he just might) and Ricky has long since abandoned any pretence of trying to box in favour of a ridiculous left hook lead and some grappling.

    What's to like?

    MTF :dunno:
