"24/7" is OBVIOUSLY Staged... DeLa DOESN'T have a Personality & Manny Pac ISN'T Comfortable Enough w/the English Language to WOW an American Audience w/his Words...U Can TELL Manny's a GOOD Dude, but it's his SMILE & ACTIONS that Reveal this, Moreso than What he SAYS... As Mentioned on Other Threads, if DeLa was REALLY a "Family Man", then ALL of his Children would B w/Him...Or he'd @ Least MENTION his Others...Instead, he's Giving the Impression that his Children w/Millie R ALL that he has... & if Manny Pac was THAT Devoted to his Wife, she WOULDN'T B Sleeping N a DIFFERENT Hotel Room Every Night...Even a Fighter N Training can SHARE a Room w/his PREGNANT Wife... REED:hammert:
It's dishonest. I resent the family man portrayl of Oscar. Why not talk about his little bastards he created. It is bullshit and worse it is boring. Oscar is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring. Manny knows 500 words in English and he is a nice peasant boy. The show is always garbage but this is the worst one by a lot.
since they are actually showing footage of sparring maybe they shouldve shown clips of victor ortiz blackening delahoyas eye and then getting sent home after only a couple rounds at the start of camp.
Very true, I think. I get that feeling...like if you kept peeling away all the masks you'd be left with Kevin Bacon in the hallow man. I doubt he even knows who he is when he's alone.
Once Oscar starts a sentence, you pretty much know what he's going to say before he finishes saying it. 2 of the 24/7s have involved him, and no boxer is more predictable and cliched than him. I also don't even think that 24/7 has mentioned how much smaller Pacquiao is.
That's because they're trying to get people to buy the fight. The show is a sales pitch masquerading as a documentary series.
yeh right :::notallthere: like everyone else in the world doesn't act differently in a professional environment
I'm sure he would make for better TV if the cameras were hidden. He's the opposite of PBF. PBF puts on a show when the cameras are on to try to be more interesting. DLH puts on a show when the cameras are on, that makes him incredibly boring and repetitive.
Non-Floyd fans will never admit this, but it's the absolute truth. Though what made the Floyd-Hatton 24/7 work was that there was plenty of material on both sides. Ricky may be tough to watch in the ring these days, but no question that he's an entertainer at heart outside the ropes. This series has the same problem as Calzaghe-Jones - devoid of personality. Floyd's enough of a natural prick to where he knew how to sell the role he was playing. Roy and Calzaghe are just arrogant/self-confident, but not in an entertaining way. Roy always projected himself to be more than he really is, but aside from boxing is really just a poser in every other aspect of life. Calzaghe's tale was basically a less interesting version of angle used to sell Hatton. The difference being that Enzo is probably much more of a dog than Ray.
Mayweather-Hatton 24/7 also had Roger in there with his hilarious, barely coherent ramblings. The most vocal guy trying to sell Pacquiao-De La Hoya is a guy with Parkinson's.
I didn't find floyd entertaining at all on 24/7. Just a contrived little prick. Roger on the other hand? ::
REED Found Billy Graham Interesting as Well, on Mayweather-Hatton 24/7... Freddie Roach can Eat a DICK...He's THE ONE Thing REED DOESN'T Like about Manny Pac...& Despite ALL The PRE-Fight Shit he's Talking, Roach will B THE FIRST To Bring Up the Size Difference AFTER the Fact... Just Watch & See... REED:shit:
they actually shot that footage but I doubt it ever comes to the TV or even the internet the crew for 24/7 is instructed that unless someone specifically tells them to turn off the cameras they are to shoot everything. This is why Roach specifies to the crew when they want to stop shooting film as in the DLH Mayweather 24/7. They shot the footage of Ortiz and De La Hoya's sparring and were told they couldn't show it. If you notice in the first episode Ortiz is jogging with Oscar but is never seen again....well maybe in the form of Oscar's black eye
He was classic, no doubt. Every time my wife and I pass canned Yams on the shelf, the first thing we think of was his Thanskgiving prep shopping scenes with his girlfriend.
24-7 is staged, and in all likelyhood the fight will be staged also. I dont "trust" any Oscar fight anymore ater what happened with Hopkins.
Steve Kim is a bit of a moron. Of course it's staged. He obviously knows nothing about TV production. There's a lot more to shooting a mini-doc like these 24-7's than just "can't they just get organic shots of the fighters and make this thing go?" Also, you'd think Kim would know that G bought the Ring. I mean, Kim does work in the very small boxing media world.
