Mike Budnik ($4,000) All of the night’s winning fighters earned 50 percent of their pay to “show†and an additional 50 percent as “win bonuses.†For example, Torres earned a guaranteed $22,000 for the fight plus an additional $22,000 for his victory. Not disclosed in the above salaries were a handful of “Fight Night†bonuses the WEC handed out. Bowles earned an additional $7,500 for the Submission of the Night award, Palaszewski earned $7,500 for the KO of the Night, and Fight of the Night honors earned Swanson and Takaya $7,500 each. Don't you love it when the Fight of the Night honor goes to a bout that wasn't televised?
Never saw the event. But then again, I hardly know any of these fighters so what motivation do I have to watch them? It would be like turning on a ToughMan fight to watch Kevin Alfrickson vs Dominguez Costa. Like.....who cares? :: I think just the fact that seeing every MMA promotion fail miserably so quickly is making me tired of even following the sport. The death of Pride hurt the sport IMO.
I feel ya.. I almost quit watching football in the 70's when the WFL went under, and then again in the 80's when the USFL folded. I was a huge Tampa Bandits fan. How can you not love a team that started Lex Luger and Ron Simmons?
