Kind of premature to talk about since he got the piss beat out of him but dont think Hoya well end his carrer like this. Think there will be a goodbye fight in the future against someone he can handle. Is there any boxer out there green enough or shoot enough for hoya to have his last fight with thats a big name. Im thinking Jose Luis Castillo or Chavez Jr would be good for Hoya.
That is way over the top, Oscar has had a stunning career and one fight does not change that. We all knew he was past his best, but he did ok against L4L number 1 Money Mayweather, I will admit he looked awful against Forbes but his was still landing shots and I put that performance down to the weight [at the time]. Last night confirmed in my eyes that Oscar is no "shot". Q the replies he has been shot a long time but IMO until last night he still had something left in the tank. We shouldn't be to surprised Dela is not the first guy to hang around to fight game for to long. These guys love to fight it is in there blood and Im sure in his own mind he thought he still had it, it's unfortunate that it takes a beating like that for so many boxers to realize the game is up.
Oscar is still a Top 10 fighter at 147-154. He would beat a lot of people ranked in the top 10 of both of those divisions: Carlos Quintana Zab Judah Cory Spinks Yuri Foreman Etc... Just because he was beaten by the consensus P4P#1 fighter in the world doesn't mean he's shot and a bum. This is what I KNEW people would be claiming after Dela Hoya lost.
There aren't many in the Top 10 of 147-154 who have the skills, and speed of Manny Pacquiao. You guys are hugely underrating Dela Hoya now.
