So what, Roy was the heavyweight champion of the world and he lost to a super-middleweight who slaps like a girl.

I'm tired of this not quitting shit. It's better not to get hurt, but put in an honest effort. De La Hoya was hopelessly outgunned. The corner gave him the right advice.

Winky Wright hasn't had a knockout since Eisenhower was president. I didn't see Tito going for broke against Wink.

I'm not sure what's the point. He didn't give an honest effort, so he deserves to be criticized for that. I don't think Roy gave an honest effort in the 3rd Tarver fight. He just wanted to survive. Shit happens.

I thought Roy tried to beat Calzaghe, but was outhustled...that and being WAY past it. For Roy to be that far past it and knockdown Tito twice...says alot toward how poorly Tito would have fared if they met in their primes.

Against Tarver, Roy tried to win in rounds 5,6 and the last half of 11. Outside of that he simply played to the crowd and showed little effort or desire to win.

No argument from me on that.

My point was, Tito didn't try against a guy who couldn't hurt him. Tarver had previously KO'd Roy. Calzaghe landed good bodyshots which must have hurt Roy.

As one sided as Calzaghe / Jones was it was a much closer match up and as a result , fight.

Manny fucking blitzed a shell shocked and embarrassed DLH who IMO experienced a major brain fart in front of millions as a result and lost all common boxing sense trying to figure out why he couldn't simply man handle the smaller guy.

It reminded me of the first time Hoya was cut and he got the same look in his eyes that said ... Fuck ! What do I do now?

Where is the logic in this? Tito was out of boxing for 3-years and never fought at 170lbs. I gave Tito 5-6 first rounds before he gassed.

Tito hasn't won 5-6 rounds since the Mayorga fight. Roy clowned him from bell to bell and rang his bell twice.

In his prime, Tito would have suffered his first loss by KO to Roy within 5 rounds.

Here's my take. DLH quit trying to win against a way samller dude. What happened to the I'm gonna take his heart away bullshit. But anyways when people talk about Roy need to back the fuck up. 1 Roy has damn near twice as many fights as DLH. He's been ko'd twice and he's older. Not to mention Roy didn't fight any different then what he's been fighting for the past 4-5 years. He's been fighting with his back against the ropes and he never was a volume puncher. My thing is this both dudes r shot and need to retire but fuck atleast Roy knocked the his opponent and actually had him seriously hurt, whereas DLH was dominated from the opening bell. Can I ask a question why in the hell would DLH try to match speed wit pac-man. Why wouldn't he add weight and try and bully pacman. I'll Holla 5000

Please tell me you are joking if you think Roy was beating Tito before the knockdown. Geez.

This is a ridiculous argument. Both guys are completely finished. Who cares "who did more" in their (hopefully) last fights. It's clear neither guy belong in the ring. If Oscar didn't quit he would have been stopped in the next round ala Roy against Glen Johnson.

Both were punching bags and offered no resistance.

i think bernstein deserves some criticism. there was no coherent fight plan in place that i could detect that leveraged all of the experience bernstein has had preparing fighters for pacquiao.

maybe odh just didn't listen, but you'd think he'd resort to doing so when he was getting his face beaten in.

    I legitimately laughed out loud.

It's got perfect placement right at the top of the thread branch.

Yeah I agree this going out on your shield is BS, How many of you guys would do that.

Now dont get me wrong I hate to see guys quitting when the fight gets tough but Dela was battered from R1 to R8. One of the most one sided fights Ive seen.

I'd be inclined to agree but if DLH is representing Mexico as he claims, going out on his shield would have been an honor for him.

Morales actually beat Pacquiao in his first fight, so forget about comparing him to DLH.

    DLH is a bitch.

They must have staged an alternate start to this fight...Tito got handled before and after the knockdowns.

Too many years of watching Oscar throw flurries that landed on elbows has slanted your mind.
