Not entirely true. The fight is happening because of HBO, Chad Dawson and Antonio Tarver. Dawson had some choices and it didn't have to be Tarver.
There was a rematch clause, but it didn't specify when the fight was took take place. Again, Dawson had choices and there's simply no way around it.

because he lost to johnson, and apparently is weak enough inside to fight a rematch with a guy he beat easily in the first fight. most people picked Adamek to win that fight. I'm just saying I see why.
you're missing my point. i'm not citing the unpredictability of fights. i'm simply pointing out that it's disappointing and surprising that a guy who took and won a fight against Adamek is content to rematch what amounts to a washed up Tarver who based on the first fight has no chance of winning. all of this while never mentioning a rematch with johnson who most people thought he lost to. he's starting to manage his career like pbf did. it's no wonder pbf declares dawson the best fighter in the world besides him. :atu: by the way, why the fuck is dawson not fighting sloppy joe. if this weren't a corrupt and politically motivated sport, that math-up would already be signed.
Everything I read said Tarver was enforcing his rematch clause. This thread cracks me up. Dawson has beaten some very good guys at 175 and yet some want to cry because he is fighting a fight he has to take. ::
