    Just watch this video again:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USxJeHV1pd8

In the first round he tagged Vitaly with some really hard lefthands. Vitaly was very wary of Corrie's powerfull left. Corrie Sanders won the first round clearly. He badly staggered Vitaly a few times. Corrie Sanders strait left is a very deadly shot. I have never seen anything like it. If he was in shape and could sustain the first round for the entire fight, he would have beaten Vitaly. After a couple of rounds he was deadtired and just wanted to brawl.

Its a shame his heart wasn't in boxing, because he sure as hell had the talent to be great.

And yes he would of beat Vitali if he was in shape.

credit to rainmaker for coming up with some provacative threads........Sanders didnt show enough though and Vitali's durability has been proven.......and Vitali and Wlad aren't interchangable.....they are two different boxers

Sanders indeed had a tremendous amount of talent, always showed a tremendous amount of heart in the ring but none outside of it.

BTW, how could the ref blow the kd call in the 1st, it was very obvious it was one, and its mind blowing how solid Vitaly chin and resolve are, especially when compared to his brother

Corrie only had enough stamina to throw his best for a round to be honest, after that he was throwing in spurts. Actually, he was already slumping his arms and leaning backwards on the ropes after 2 minutes in the first round. Pretty horrid training plan for a guy who's fighting for a world title. Vitali was in shape as always.

If a prime, dedicated, motivated and properly trained Sanders were here today.......

He would be the undisputed champ.

If a dedicated Thomas Hearns was suddenly infused with Wayne McColoughs chin he'd still be champion today.

If Wlad had Vitali's chin and Larry Holmes' defense and he would let his hands go a bit more often, he would have easily beaten Sanders. He is that good.

Sanders should have been credited with a K.D in the first round, where he definately had Vitali concerned @ times.
If he had fought every round like that he would have won.

Actually, in that 3 second sequence where he shook Vitali-If he had fought every 3 second sequence like that, he would have certainly won. Maybe we need a rematch...?

Vitaly couldn't have eaten those shots for the entire fight. In the first round, when both fighters were fresh, Corrie won the round easily. He should have even been credited a knockdown. Vitaly is a great fighter and always in great shape. He is a real professional. Corrie is not. That is what cost him the fight. If he entered the ring in good shape, he would have beaten Vitaly. His strait left staggered him more than most of Lewis' shots (except Lewis' uppercut in the 6th).

I was at the fight and you guys must have missed. Vitali struggled for exactly 6 seconds the whole fight and he beat Sanders down like a broke hooker.

Corrie Sanders. The overrated heavyweight of the '00's....picking up on the torch dropped by Andrew Golota in the 90's.

I agree. He really had potential perhaps but in terms of accomplishment he is a one hitter quitter.

the secret to sander's success was that he was just big. not because he worked out. not because he ate whey protein. he was just naturally big. that combined with his south-paw stance, and his hand-speed (a function of his not body-building as i've said), made him devastating. it's too bad he didn't hit the cardio more.
