I know Sanchez should be the pick here as style favor him, but Pacquiao's speed would be difficult for him to handle
Sal got hit way too much. I think Pac can win a decision or a late TKO. Have ALWAYS thought this as well and used to get flamed for it.
It's pretty weird, I agree. Sanchez was a very good counterpuncher. However a lot of people seem to equate that as Sanchez having some sort of excellent defense. His defense really wasn't that great. He needed the chin that he was blessed with because he got hit quite a bit.
........ Oh BTW, I still would pick Sanchez by dec but was just saying he got hit more than people let on.
Manny would certainly land on Sal, but Sanchez had a terrific chin and was quicker and more fluid than Marquez, who twice nearly beat Manny.
Sanchez was also much more conventional than JMM. JMM throws some weird combo's. I agree that Sanchez wins but don;t view it as any kind of lock.
I'm also with Sanchez by decision. I heard of Salvador's boxing skill's reputation before i even saw him fight. While it's true he wasn't your "typical" Mexican pressure fighter, he got hit a lot more than i expected to see. As was already posted Sanchez had a great chin to back him up. Although he was a much better technically than Morales, he didn't seem to "mind" getting hit. That works both for and against him with Pacquiao. I think he could take Manny's shots and fire his own but Pac's speed might see Sal getting hit more than even he'd like. My guess is Sanchez wins a close decision based on being better technically and exploiting it in spots. A rematch could just as easily go to Manny.
