I'm really surprised Cintron took this fight. Clottey is about as unwinnable a fight for him as a 3rd fight with Margarito would be. Clottey is just as durable as Margarito with a nearly impenetrable defense. He's also just as strong, faster, and more unorthodox as Tony. Cintron should have went after something easier. It's obvious he can't hang with the big boys of the division so I guess there is nothing wrong with picking up a big check, but even then I doubt fighting Clottey will even do that. So what's the upside here?

Anyway I'm looking forward to this fight and hope Kermit can last a bit longer than he did against Tony. I'm sure some of you guys who underrate Clottey are going to give Kermit a chance in this one so go ahead and say it now. Whaddya think?

Clottey is as durable as Margarito is, and better defensively, but he ain't nearly as active as he is.

Didn't know this fight was a done deal, but if it is, that's great news. :bears:

I don't think Clottey is that hard to beat. He will probably beat Cintron who isn't very good.

But I think Cintron will do better against Clottey than Margarito.

Clottey Makes Himself "Easier" to Beat by OVERTLY Holding his Gloves High & ALLOWING his Opponent to Fire @ his Arms for 2/3 of Every Round...But if he THROWS More, then his SUSPECT Stamina Comes Into Play...

agREED on Cintron...He Doesn't Completely SUCK, but he ISN'T Very Good Either...He's a 1 Trick Pony w/a BREAKABLE Spirit...

Good Matchup Though, Cause BOTH Guys Need All the QUALITY Wins they can Get....

    Cintron did what.....

He has some set of balls and I guess if he did manage to come away with the W it could propel him back towards to top...

Two fighters contained on Antonio Margarito's extensively gorgeous resume, doesn't his index of victims light up threads like time square?, ..to say Margarito's resume sucks is to say the deepest and most talented division sux, a division Margarito sits atop of on his throne, where one just HAS TO come to the subsequent and logical conclusion, that he is the p4p best fighter in the sport.

Why wouldn't he? Clottey isn't a puncher and hasn't had a legitimate stoppage since 2004.

I think Clottey wins the fight, but expect it to be closer than most.

People have been hating on Cintron forever, yet he still hasn´t lost to anyone not named Margarito. It´s a good match-up.

I knew it I knew it I knew it! The very reason why I made this thread. Looks like Cintron finally wised up as he's now saying he's scheduled to fight Sergio Martinez at 154lbs because he claims it's a bigger fight for him. I knew he didn't have the balls to climb in the ring with Clottey, I fucking knew it!

Ahh fuck Clottey! Martinez is by no means an easy fight for Kerm, in fact Cintron will probably lose. The differance in speed between him and Martinez is huge. And I dont blame Kerm for taking it cause none seemed able to make Clottey-Cintron come together.

Clottey would have most likely beaten Cintron, but I dont think Kermit was scared to fight him. Cintron was obviously willing to fight Clot, and it seemed as if the fighting was heading towards the Cotto/Pavlik PPV, but guess Arum didnt feel like putting his money into it.

Once Berto beats Collazo, I'm pretty sure the next fight for Berto will be against Clottey.

you sure think highly of Clottey!

I think he is good but no that good. no enough for people to fear him.

Berto vs. Clottey is a toss up I think.

Of course you think that way. Hell most of the people on this forum underrate Clottey. Either that or I'm overrating him, one of the 2. :dunno:

Nah, Berto's going to get stopped if he even has the balls to step up and fight Clottey like so few do.

I saw Martinez here in Houston a couple of years ago, and I didn't think he looked that hot.

    I'll take Cintron by KO.

I like Clottey because he defends himself legally, it's that simple. In an age where bitch-fighters run, foul, clinch, or twist thier backs in order to wriggle thier way out of a fight happening, Clottey plays by the rules and does it effectively well,.... and I find that extremely refreshing,.. to say that Clottey has no heart is pretty ironic coming from Fraud and Hopkins groupies who's fighters use a panick of illegal measures to avoid shots and steal rounds, they are then praised for fighting like fucking cowards, exploiting the lack of rule enforcement and generally rotting the sport from the inside out.

I can't believe anyone likes Clottey. He not only sucks, but he is a heartless, gutless premadonna who fakes injuries. The guy barely beat Zab Judah and was scared to trade with Zab Judah. Clottey is easily one of my least favorite fighters. I hope his boring terrified ass never is put on tv again

Here's Clottey's written statement in regards to Kermits duck job:

I am disappointed to hear that Kermit Cintron will not fight me. It is the second time he has avoided facing me in the ring, and it is something I cannot comprehend. To be given the opportunity to fight for a world championship and to say “noâ€￾ means that his fear is stronger than his desire. I have always kept my desire, my hunger. I have always been ready to fight any opponent who is put in front of me. I come from a proud tradition of boxers from Ghana. Men like Azumah Nelson and Ike Quartey. Like them, I am a warrior. And I will defend my title against any man. Antonio Margarito, Miguel Cotto, Andre Berto, Shane Mosley, Manny Pacquiao—I will face them one at a time and I will still be champion. If these fighters want to call themselves the best, and if they want the fans to believe they are the best, then they should stand up and meet me in the ring. For myself and for my homeland, I will be ready to defend my title.â€￾

I am surprised you feel this way considering both Clottey and Cottos performances against Margarito and their results.
I think you hate Clottey as that was Corrales last fight.
