Anyone interested in an interesting read should definately get this book. It tells an unbiased perspective of the sport from its roots to as recent as the Lesnar/Couture bout. It also gets into very detailed descriptions of the careers of most of the prominent fighters and camps of the sport. Some crazy inside info in this book that gives you a real sense what goes on behind the scenes as well as some of the more historical moments. opcorn:
For example some crazy shit about Shamrock's "Lions Den" Gym. It is not suprising that Ken Shamrock had to pull out of the Kimbo Slice fight on the day of the fight due to a cut. It was said that Ken would "put his fighter to sleep" on numerous occasions the night of the fight to teach his fighter to avoid submissions. Also, it was normal at "The Lions Den", which was kinda like TUF house, for the Shamrock brothers to routinely grab other fighters while not expecting it and choke them out. For the fuck of it!! Fun practical joke huh?
