For some reason I have a hard time believing Clottey-Cintron will happen any time soon, much less on the Cotto card. I know it's the hot rumor... but the show is six weeks away. Not the type of fight you just piece together and wing it at the last minute, especially considering financial demands figure to far exceed what Arum can afford considering he's footing the entire bill.

Great if it happens... but a week ago, the undercard was supposed to feature Ivan Calderon and JuanMa.

Peterson-Julio Diaz is in the same category. I personally think he's fishing, with both fights. Suggesting he'll do it himself, hoping that HBO or Showtime instead expresses interest for a future telecast. If they do, he can then offer some shitty mismatch on this undercard, and use the excuse that it was the best he could do at the last minute.

For what it's worth, Greg Leon says "Sources from MSG" have informed him Clottey-Cintron "has been added" to this card.

I'd have no issue with Pavlik if he fought Sturm next, as long as he plans on fighting Abraham this year at some point.

It just seems that everytime the Abraham fight is near one or two more fights appear for Pavlik that delays that fight.

But after the schooling he got from Hopkins he needs to get his shit together before stepping up again.

And as per usual, Leon's "sources" prove to be bullshit.

BTW - I'm starting to grow sick of Pavlik. Its become quite apparent that Kelly wants no parts of Abraham.

Agreed. The only fighter I have any interest in seeing Pavlik face at 160 is Abraham. Posssibly Williams too, if Tall Paul looks impressive against old man Winky.

Pavlik is a bitch for hiding at 160 and fighting no hopers rather than fighting at his REAL weight class, 168, where there are actually quality fighters.

Hmm... I'm surprised. I thought a fight that made real sense was matching Malignaggi with Judah, with the whole Brooklyn thing between them its a fight that coulda sold.

Never seen Alvarado fight, but all I know is that Paulie hasnt looked like a good fighter since the 1st Ndou fight.

From Dan Rafael's chat earlier today...

    ------------------
Dan Rafael: (12:43 PM ET ) It's not 100 percent set but here's the way it looks -- Pavlik in the TV main, Cotto in the second to last fight. The other two fights will come from either Clottey vs. someone (maybe Soto Karass), Alvarado-Malignaggi or Anthony Peterson-Edner Cherry. I expect we will also see highlights time permitting of Matvey Korobov and perhaps Bastie Samir, two outstanding prospects and 2008 Olympians.
    ------------------

Clottey-Soto Karass and Alvarado-Malignaggi are interesting match ups.

Dan Rafael says Alvarado-Malignaggi won't be on the cadr (big surprise)...but that John Duddy-Matt Vanda will be.

    That'll up the buy rate.

He also says Anthony Peterson-Edner Cherry will also be on the card.

Lockett is the guy who opened my eyes to the real Pavlik.

After seeing Pavlik win his wars he had I though he might just be an Erik Morales type guy who will give and take and almost has to be in wars to be comfortable in there. Then I saw Lockett landing a shitload of punches but not hurting Pavlik and I realized the guy really has no defense at all.

I was on boxingfanatics (aka pavlikisgod.com) at the time and was trying to tell people that the guy is in for a major asskicking if he moves up in weight or faces a good boxer.

For those that haven't heard, Anthony Peterson (v. Edner Cherry) is off the pay per view telecast.

Lockett was ranked No.1 by somebody or other. Defies belief, doesn't it?

Jennings is better than Lockett, though, IMHO. It makes no difference at all, of course, because he has no chance of winning on Saturday, though...

I'm almost positive Arum is gonna make Cotto-Cintron in June. I cant really complain about that, Kermit the frog needs another beating.

He doesn't look scared at all. IMO Cotto will have his hands full on Saturday night. Jennings will not be an easy victim.

I think Arum will wait till May...for the outcome of Hatton vs. Pacquiao...if Hatton win he will see if Cotto vs. Hatton in September...hopefully!! :hammert:

No he wont keep Cotto on the shelf that long. He'll make Cotto-Cintron in June, then if Manny beats Hatton, he'll make Cotto-Pac for next fall.

If I'm Shane, I wouldnt hold my breath for getting a rematch. Shane should go after Berto.
