The best Gracie is is supposedly Rickson. He was a version of Royce except powerful, explosive, and very aggressive.

Rorion Gracie, who helped organize UFC1 originally wanted his other brother, Rickson, to fight on the card. However, he felt that he would win too easily and that Royce should be the man, in order to bring in more fans since Royce is more of an underdog. "small and skinny"

What arrogance. I would have loved to see him stretched.

a little arrogant maybe, but check out some clips of Rickson, the guy would have made short work of 99% of everyone in the first UFC's that Royce dominated. I have wondered the same about up and coming Gracies, I think they would have to come out with a little more well rounded fighter. One of the best that came out early from Brazil was Marco Ruas. Had great BJJ and was a stud in Muay Thai as well. He won one of the early UFC's, I think #5, not sure about that though

Agreed. The tactis Gracie used when UFC was in it's infancy can only go so far now that most UFC fighters have training in BJJ, or at the very least have faced off against BJJ practioners.
