Hopefully "Strikeforce" has LONGEVITY...If they're SMART, they'll "Push" REAL Fighters Instead of Circus Acts like Kimbo...

Nice to see Strikeforce taking the next step. They are a great promotion with a bunch of local talent. I've been to almost every Strikeforce show and will continue to go and support them. They are a great example of how a MMA org needs be run. They have built a huge local following.

    WAR STRIKEFORCE!

I hope to god they didn't pick up Kimbo. I don't know why the hell they used his picture with this article. He never fought for Strikeforce.

    Great news for the sport!
But I would have loved to see Robbie Lawler back in the UFC beating down Bisping. LOL

I don't mind them picking Kimbo Slice up,as long as they don't push him as a main eventer.

You're still on the Kimbo bandwagon eh? Some things never change. Kimbo is all hype, no substance. He sucks, plain and simple.

Exactly. His stock has dropped significantly with the effort against Thompson and the KO loss to Seth, but he's still a fighter that would be fun to watch. You know he's going to bang.

The idea in fringe fan's minds that he could compete with the top HW's is gone, but he's still a decent card filler that can end fights dramatically.

He has every right to fight if that's what he wants to do. Just don't let me see that scrub in any main events any time soon.

Now there's a match up. I wonder if there will be any trash talking leading up to this one?

I personally think they should grab Kimbo, as long as the money makes more sense for Strikeforce. Z is right, absolutely no way a main eventer, but he can definitely be a card filler.

I like the fight with Diaz and Shamrock, interesting matchup. At first thought I think Shamrock will be too powerful, but Frank is that old guard getting passed by right now. Wouldn't be suprised if we are saying after this fight that Frank is "shot"

They gave my bro, Lyle Beerbohm, a call. He had fought on the SHO XC cards twice and was calling out winner of Diaz/Alvarez. TFK, any word on Eddie?

Alvarez was injured in the Aoki fight. He was supposed to fight again a few weeks later, but cancelled because of that. I'm guessing we won't see him fight again until Bellator starts up. I know his contract with EliteXC was different than most fighters, so I don't know if he is still under their control at all.

As for Kimbo, his contract is now owned by StrikeForce, but I highly doubt they're gonna pay him $500,000 a fight to fight nobodies. And they certainly won't put him in with a name fighter, as he'd get killed. If Kimbo really wants to be a fighter, he'll re-do the contract to a more realistic one, then work his way up like he's supposed to. If it's just about the money, we'll probably never see him fight again.

Haven't heard what weight the Shamrock\Diaz fight will be at, but all things considered, Shamrock is a much better fighter than Diaz. It all depends on how much Frank has left in the tank. Diaz is a great measuring stick to see if he's still a legit top fighter or not.

They're working on Josh Thompson vs. KJ Noons for StrikeForce's 155 LB Belt. Shaping up to be a pretty good card.

good fight, not a big fan of noons, but that does make a decent card.

It will be at a catch-weight of 179. At that weight Shamrock eats him alive. I like Diaz but Frank will be too strong.

Frank Shamrock is way bigger than Diaz. The highest weight Nick Diaz should fight at is 170 and somewhere around 160 would be ideal.

Frank will just be too much. He's not as great as he once was but he's been fighting at 185 and looks lean and in shape at that weight. Diaz would be fat at 185.

    Frank via too bigness.

Does anyone know how much Diaz is getting for this fight? I would think he'd be getting paid decently to accept it at that high of a weight. All in all, it is a good fight for Diaz, if he loses, he isn't even supposed to be fighting that heavy, if he wins its a great win against a legend in the sport.

All that aside, Frank via too bigness as well.
