Yep, according to Maxboxing Cotto would prefer the Mosley rematch and so would Shane but Shane says he won't fight Cotto in NY again. He never stated why but I imagine having so many fans against him when he fought Margarito left a bad taste in his mouth.

Anyway how would you guys see this rematch going?

Well Mosley is the guy seeking redemption.....he can't be the one making the demands and still expect the fight to happen

At least there were fans there.

Mosley isn't supplying 20,000 plus, no matter how much they reduce the ticket prices.

Rematch will happen....and Cotto would win again if he isn't toooo damage from the Margarito fight...

but i rather watch Cotto fight Berto or Clottey in the summer then Mosley in October/November...

and the fight will happen in NY...Arum is not about to make take less money for a fight in Vegas/LA w/ cheaper tickets...

We have to see how Cotto looks next weekend. But Cotto's speed and skills will give Mosley Problems. So far Mosley is 0-2 in rematches.

BTW I would rather see Cotto/Margarito II. I want to see that cheater KTFO again!

I rather seem Cotto vs. Berto/Clottey....Cotto jab and timing will always give Mosley problems....

and Cotto will NOT KO Margarito...that much i'm willing to concede...he will outbox him and win most of the rounds...

Of course Cotto would rather fight a guy he got past by instead of taking another beating...

He meant in rematches where he actually lost the first time.

BTW yesterday I played Mosley vs Margarito II on FIGHT NIGHT and even though Margarito did better by hurting Mosley a few times, the damn mexican still lost by KO in round six! Not even in a game he can beat Mosley!

Cotto beats Shane again, unless he was severely damaged from plasterfisto.

Shane probably feels that after the way he beat Margarito he has a good shot at Cotto - but Shane - Margarito is not, and never will be Miguel Cotto.

Nothing changes from the first fight that would allow Shane to do anything different. The fight stays close, but Cotto smoothly wins 7 or 8 rounds and gets another UD.

I thought Shane won the first match, tbh. At worst it was damn close. Outside NY, with increased confidence and after the beating Cotto took from Tony, Shane's a big favourite..

I agree Shane could still lose to Cotto. From a skill level point of view I could still see Shane getting beaten to the punch, outjabbed, and out thought in the ring. However 2 things work in Shane's favor IMO. (1.) Is him seeing Cotto get stopped and knowing he can be. (2.) Is Shane coming off of a big confidence building win over the same guy who already stopped Cotto. Shane already had Cotto wilting towards the end of their first fight so if he started early knowing that Cotto will eventually wilt I think he could stop Cotto. If I had to pick I'd pick that Shane would stop Cotto in a rematch based on those points.

It's no wonder Arum doesn't want to put Cotto in with Shane. That would be Cotto going up against the 2 toughest welters in a short span of time. Arum is protecting Cotto by trying to match him up with Cintron which will be a fucking pushover for Cotto.

I could then see Arum negotiating a Mosley-Clottey fight and promising Cotto for the winner. Then Arum will bribe the judges into giving it to Clottey who is tough enough and defensive enough to likely last the distance with Shane.
