In fact he might get his ass beat. Mike is nice and has very good skills. I can see him outboxing the inexperienced and frankly overated Ortiz.

The reason I call Ortiz overated is not because of his potential (he has loads) its because I feel like he needs more seasoning and strikes me as the kind of fighter at this stage that if taken out of his pace and rythm is suceptible to being frustrated and have certain limitations exposed.

Any one else picking Mike for the big time upset?

Mike is a good test for him, but IMO he's never been above a C+ level fighter. Ortiz should hurt him enough to win the fight.

So would I, but I think that goes without saying for a lot of people.

I think Ortiz is a good fighter, but I also think he's over-rated.

REED Certainly Isn't Expecting THAT, but REED DOES Expect Ortiz to Win Rather Decisively...Mid-Late Rounds Stoppage OR a Wiiiiiiiiiiiide UD....

Arnaoutis has proven he can compete at the world-class level.
    Ortiz hasn't. At all.

Arnaotis don't have an iron chin. In fact that is why he bitched up and wouldn't let his hands go against Holt. Also, while Arnaotias has fought at world class level he doesn't seem to win.

Should be a good fight, one guy unproven and the other couldn't quite win against the best.

I agree with the thread-starter. Mike is a very seasoned fighter at this stage, and in addition to being durable, has some pop of his own.

It's not uncommon for an upcoming prospect to forget these things and find himself on the canvas.

Mike's a scrapper. I could envision his winning easily. Ortiz has been in pretty soft up until now.

However, Arnaoutis could be approaching shot-hood. He's had some tough fights with Holt and Torres, neither of which he won. And he hasn't fought anyone of note since.

It certainly will be a test for Ortiz. It's definitely a step up - possibly one that will prove too big.

Either way, it should be a great fight. I don't think Mike will ly down for anyone.

Agreed. Ortiz will not have a walk in the park with Arnaoutis, who has only lost to a couple of the better guys at 140. How good is Ortiz's chin? I've only seen him fight I think once or twice. It's hard to really get a read on a guy when he's fighting guys who have no chance. The Resto fight was ridiculuos, Resto needs to retire. The guys got nothing.

For what it's Worth, REED Thought Arnaoutis Deserved a DRAW or Perhaps even a WIN in the Torres Fight...Torres Didn't "Beat" him that Night...

and the Holt fight was kind of close too if I remember correctly although valdosta is right Arnoutis was scared to punch because Holt has that scary right hand.

Forget this fight, why isnt anybody mentioning Kirkland-Julio? Figures to be action packed, and I see Julio pulling the upset.

yeah. i like watching Julio fight. he's like "butter." ha ha ha. did you notice fightnews incorrectly referred to him as undefeated?

anyways, i haven't seen enough of Kirkland. has he been appearing on shobox or what? if so, that would explain my not having seen him. i gave up on shobox a long time ago - same time i gave up on FNF.

what weight is this fight taking place at?

Ortiz is overrated imo. But he is doing it right... He is walking through the guys he should be walking through.

I think the guys who run the show for him are very aware that his is making a jump here... its time and Ortiz has come up big when needed in the past. I don't see him faltering yet.

He will fight guys at Mike's level without a hitch maybe a few rough patches but thats it. His problems start after that at the next level

Well, to be fair, Guerrero's already gone further than Ortiz and I don't think he's necessarily done at 130.

Ortiz appears to be a good prospect, and I like him more than Kirkland at this point, but he would seem to have the toughest assignment of the three (Kirkland, him and Guerrero).
