I think Pacquiao carried his speed and power up with him, all the way to 147. PBF's chin "will" be tested. And the rules of the sport "will" be enforced. I'm sure Roach will make sure of that.

That anemic ODH hits a hell of a lot harder than PBF by the way. I think we can all agree on that.

Mad trouble with Marquez? Who hasn't had mad trouble with him? The fact that he beat him twice an equal feat to beating PBF at this point, IMO.

PBF is going to "maul" someone on the inside? :atu:

He hasn't done that since he started fighting guys his size. Don't expect that.

If PBF wins it'll be the same way he beat ODH. By using his feet and punching Pacquiao on the gloves with crowd pleasing speed.

But I disagree he carried his power up to 147,.. they looked like a bundle of puffs to me, he hit De La Hoya in the head over and over and over again,.. if a real welterweight was given that same oppurtunity, De La Hoya wouldnt have been standing till the very end. I think we'll all see in the Hatton fight that either Pacquioa's devistating power has mysteriously dissapeared, or that Hatton's chin has suddenly improved after a career of leaping into punches.

To his credit, Manny doesn't really "walk" in.

True he doesn't....but sometimes he come in with a jab/left hand....or with other sorta combos..and if they don't land he seem to freeze in the moment..thats when Mayweather will catch him....

Yeah, there's definitely openings to counter him. One punch Maywather may find success with is the uppercut.

People also seem to be overlooking the fact that Pac is a southpaw. That's a huge advantage. And PBF's toughest fights with the exception of the ODH dance have been against south-paws.

As far as Pacquuao's power, I'm not sure what to think. ODH has always had a great chin. But his face was beaten and bruised worse than I've ever seen it. And the reluctance he showed, though it might've been due in part to his weight loss, was certainly out of respect for Pacquiao's power.

As they say, if you're name isn't PBF, speed IS power. And even at 147, Pacquiao has profound speed. And I agree with those who say he has even faster hands than PBF - especially at 147.

PBF's never seen anyone like Pacquiao. Pacquiao, on the other hand, has had 24 rounds of experience against one of the game's best counter-punchers and prevailed. That's not to say PBF is a replica of JMM. JMM fights like a man, has punching power, and isn't boring as hell to watch.

PBF? Not so much. The best thing that can be said for PBF is his footwork but I think Pacquiao's aggression and ability to punch without being set will go a long way towards nullifying that. Afterall, this isn't a "set and punch" fighter we're talking about like Corrales, Cotto or Trinidad.

BTW: lol at the person who said pbf is going to maul pacquiao on the inside.

I wouldn't expect you to agree, dude. Let me guess, because Floyd moves around and boxes most of the time there's no way he can fight on the inside, right? And because Pacquiao fights moving foward he probably is an inside fighting machine. Turns out that's wrong and Floyd IS much better on the inside, stronger and craftier. Nobody had messed with Hatton on the inside before but that's how he broke Ricky and set him up for the KO.

But that won't matter, Pacquiao won't even get past Hatton.

I agree PBF out-fought Hatton on the inside. And it was impressive - but I think more than anything it was a reflection of how overrated Hatton is. Hatton isn't a good inside fighter at all. What he does well is hit his guy from mid-distance, fall in and hold him. Not unlike Mosley. That makes him easy pickings for Pacquiao.

Hatton's skills are so deficient it's not even funny. Hit from 3 feet and hold. Hit from 3 feet and hold. Repeat. The guy's a hack.

It's no surprise at all that PBF outfought him inside, given the refree wasn't allowing Hatton to hold.

Hatton needs to go back to the UK where he can give signals to the ref when and if he needs the action stopped or if he's having success holding and hitting in which case he nods to the ref not to stop the action.

If the "real" rules are enforced, Hatton isn't shit.

Hatton still employs that leaping left jab that got him KTFO by PBF. Watch Pacquiao exploit the same mistake.

Pacquiao can't fight in the INSIDE..he is a mid-range fighter...he needs just the RIGHT DISTANCE to land his punches...to far he falls short..and looks clumsy..in the inside Mayweather will rip him apart...

I don't even remember Pacquiao fighting in the inside in any of his recent fights.......:dunno:

So now Hatton sucks... Come on now, he stopped Tszyu and beat the hell out of your idol Castillo. JL is supposed to be this force inside but he couldn't do shit to Hatton.

Yes. Hatton is shit. He beat Tszyu by breaking evry rule in the book, including a predetermined understanding with the referee.

As far as Castillo, it was Hatton's typical hit and hold body shot that put an obviously shot Castillo on the canvas. WTF does that prove?

JLC couldn't fight Hatton inside BTW because Hatton doesn't fight inside. Hatton holds inside.

    Hatton is shit.

Perfect! All he needs to do is elude Hatton's hitting and falling in for the hold; it'sas simple as a step back and a three punch counter.

Who gets KTFO by PBF at 147? I'll tell you who. A hack with no boxing skills who thinks a leaping left jab is a good way to close the distance.

I'm telling you. Hatton is strong and determined. But he has virtually no bixing skills, no defense (other than holding), and he will be picked apart and beaten surprisingly easily by Pacquiao, if not knocked out.

Hatton is the poster child for what's called a hack. A guy who never bothered to learn what defense is. Instead he just throws one at a time and holds.

Of course, he'simpressive against UK competition. But beyond that, his only chance of beating capable fighters is for the referee to look the other way when he hits, falls in, and holds, and repeats.

Even in the UK he looked like shit against Ben Tackie of all people. Just imagine. He managed to stage a boring and tedious fught with Ben Tackie. That alone should tell you what a hack he is.

His best win in the UK was against an over the hill Tszyu in which he was allowed to hold, grapple, head-buut and shoot low blows. Tszyu took that fight in the UK for the money and the money alone.

Does Pacquiao use the "step back and a three punch counter" a lot?

it's a simple enough response to Hatton's hack. whether he uses it a lot or not, you can bet he'll beat Hatton's ass with it.

BTW:: he did execute such tactics against ODH.

If you say he did, then he did.

I thought that when Pacquiao did react to DLH's punches it tended to be defensive, by bringing his hands up, and usually either stepping back or bending down or to the side (when DLH did actually throw punches).

There were times when DLH wouldn't bring his gloves all the way back, or would throw out some pitty-pat range-finders (usually with his left) because he was having such a hard time with the speed and distance (and height)...and Pacquiao did "counter" some of those.

And as the fight wore on, and DLH tired, Pacquao did "counter" some of his leans and feints.

I'm not sure that's the same as doing what you prescribe he should do against Hatton, who throws more compact punches and follows them in...unlike DLH, who pretty much stood flat-footed or stepped foward (incrementally).

I had Mayweather winning by 2 rounds in both fights but the second fight was clearer.

If Money beats Manny its because he has a great straight right hand. Anybody with a great straight right hand will give Manny huge problems. Anybody without a great straight right hand will give Manny no problems at all.
