Pacquiao is a modern day, living, legend.

Boxing itself is better because of him.

I felt that way with Trinidad, even though Manny already trascended whatever Trinidad did. Manny is an all time great.

I think what makes Pacquiao (and made Trinidad) so endearing is they fought with the weight of a nation on their back. That's an awfully heavy burden to carry and both do it with such finesse.

When Pacquiao enters an arena, I imagine the crowd doesn't sound much different than how the rising voices of the crowd at an ancient Roman arena sounded. I was at Morales-Pacquiao II, and it was a surreal scene when Pacquiao entered, people 10 rows away were reaching towards Pacquiao in the walkway, trying in some spiritual way to grab the essence of him as a fighter.

Near the end of the fight, when Pacquiao landed that last left hand that made Morales kneel on the canvas, 10,000 people in unison stood up in celebration. The Flag of the Philippines was waving for everyone to see from each corner of the arena. Pacquiao slowly walked towards a corner and knelt before God. I have never seen such humility.

He gives, without hesitation to his country, all he has. It will be one of the saddest days in my life when he no longer can.

I feel him. I used to be a hardcore titosite. But either way, not every country stand behind their fighters like that, and when it's your own country, it's something that reaches far beyond fanatism. It's patriotic and historic in some way. When I read that the philippines country paralyzed when Manny fought Oscar, to the point that even the guerrillas stopped fighting until after the fight, it blew me away and reminded me so much of when Trinidad was at the top.

You know what? That's a better Scottish accent than most actors manage! If I just heard that I would think it was a special needs kid from from Stirling.
