Why was the Hatton shoelace tieing incident swept under the rug like it was?

Lazcano had Hatton out on his feet with a counter left hook (what a surprise). Next thing you know, the referee breaks them, orders Lazcano to a neutral corner, and then Hatton has his shoe laces retied. Why was this allowed to happen? Why does nobody make reference to it? The fact that like PBF, Lazcano could very well have knocked Hatton out had he not been given the time to recover that he was. And ironically, it was the same mistake Hatton made against PBF - the leaping left jab. Lazcano countered him with a left-hook that put Hatton on queer street, and very likely could've finished him at that point. Instead, the referee steps in, breaks them, and basically allows Hatton to recollect his senses.

In the very least Lazcano should be given a rematch. If nothing else, he showed that Hatton has no defense whatsoever and the only way he wins fights is with strength and determination. And he's going to beat Pacquiao?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone was pissed about it. The announcers were perplexed as well.

This is one of the many reasons I'm going to enjoy Pac beating Hatton into submission, another reason is the way he shamefully ducked Witter.
