According to Maxboxing, which usually has a well maintained fight schedule, RJJ is going to fight Sheika on PPV this weekend. I take it that's been scratched? If so does that mean the next meaningful fight on TV isn't until April 4th (Holt versus Bradley), followed the next week by William versus Wright? There's a Latin Fury card on 3/28 with Jr., Soto and Montiel but none of them are fighting anyone I've heard of. Although JLC versus Antonio Diaz could be a decent scrap. The guy Jr. is fighting is undefeated but we all know that doesn't mean shit. Soto is fighting a guy named Antonio Davis who if I recall correctly isn't much. And Montiel is facing Diego Silva? Thanks Bob. This card had better be no more than $29.99 or it's a rip-off with not a single fight save for the JCL fight in which the "start" isn't being showcased. Throw us a bone? Jeez. What crap. So the RJJ fight isn't really happening, is it?
its still happening i believe, i havent heard of it being cancelled or anything. i hope not anyway that was gonna be one of the fights for the prediction league
It's Supposed to B a Boxing/MMA Show...Ken Shamrock was on the Bill, but REED just Heard of him Testing Positive for STEROIDs...Not Sure HOW that'll Affect the Show... REED:kidcool:
Sheika is just the kind of guy RJJ likes to fight. Especially now, Sheika is garbage (not that he was ever good). He loads up. He's predictable. And has almost no defense. This will be a cake walk for RJJ. Sheika's only chance is to hit that chin but my guess is RJJ will use Sheika's aggression against him and hit him all night from angles with one shot at a time until Sheika is a battered mess.
I haven't checked the odds but the feeling here is that its a tall order for Dunne, a big step up for him, but he's close to 30 and its now or never...by his own account, he's had a good 10 wk camp, away from the normal distractions etc., although I'd wonder about whether he got quality sparring
I just think it's a shame that the most gifted fighter I've ever seen ....has been reduced to continuing a career facing a guy like Sheika, at this point in his career. Hell,.....if a prime RJ woulda fought a prime Omar back in the day.....Jones and his fans woulda been ridiculed.
Jason Guida, brother of Clay the caveman Guida is taking Shamrock's place. Jason is a fat ass LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT, who will most likely come in looking like Butterbean and get his ass beat up bad.
The ironic thing is a prime RJ frequently faced competition on the level of Omar: Glen Kelley, Clinton Woods, Richard Hall, some guy named Wolfe, and countless others.
