Here's the card for UFC 100 so far, and God damn, it's stacked. It's gonna be interesting to see what 5 fights make the main card. Maybe they'll add an extra hour to the PPV, or what would be even cooler, air the undercard fights live on Spike. I think that would be a hell of a way to hype the PPV. UFC 100: JULY 11, 2009 venue: Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada -Georges St. Pierre (#1 Welterweight in the World)* vs. Thiago Alves (#3 Welterweight in the World)* -Frank Mir (#3 Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Brock Lesnar (#9 Heavyweight in the World)* -Jon Fitch (#2 Welterweight in the World)* vs. Paulo Thiago -Dan Henderson (#6 Middleweight in the World)* vs. Michael Bisping -Matt Grice vs. Shannon Gugerty -Jonathan Goulet vs. Dong Hyun Kim -Jon Jones vs. Jake O'Brien -Stephan Bonnar vs. Mark Coleman -C.B. Dollaway vs. TBA TFK
This card is fucking CRAZY!artie: I can't believe they will have GSP/Alves as well as Mir/Lesnar. Then to put on Fitch/Thiago and Henderson/Bisping as well??? That shit is a mma fan's dream! As one can see, I am happy:bears: I am hoping CB Dolloway gets his ass kicked by TBA
.....i really liked Jon Jones when i saw him last time out....what is Jake O'Brien like?....will he test Jones?
Its a test alright Jake O'Bien is a very stong 205. He used to be at HW. I think Jones has huge potential.
I think he has a loooong way to go before he is world class. He just has such a strong base to start from. His Greco throws are sick and he controls with the clinch the best I have seen besides Henderson. do you know what camp he is in? It would make a huge difference with a guy like him.
Fuck you Gatti, why you always gotta shit in the cornflakes???? They could still put more on too......fucker:flip:
The three main fights are good, and the Fitch fight is interesting. What did Bonnar do to deserve a spot on such a big card? Or Goulet vs. Kim, ridiculous. The should put BJ Penn vs. Florian on that card. w
I'm hyped for the main event. GSP is P4P number one, but if anyone has a chance, it's Thiago, he is a fucking beast. The rest of the card though, bof.
Well I guess Fedor is really, but Fedor's lack of good wins recently hurt his ranking. GSP has been the most impressive fighter in MMA for the last couple of years it seems.
I think his dominant wins over Sylvia and Arlovski (who are much bigger men than himself )has solidified his place, plus he's never came close to losing to fighters the caliber of Matt Serra or Matt Hughes. I have GSP second though...Anderson Silva's a little overrated, thanks to the Dana White hype machine. His best wins in the UFC was over an aging Hendo and an average Rich Franklin :shit:
I agree with you about Bonnar. He hasn't had a major win in, well I can't remember a major win now that I think about it. But the top 4 fights are awesome. Personally I was hoping to see Junior Dos Santos on it again. I don't think they are done filling out the card though, maybe I'm just hoping, but I bet they put one more big name fight on thereray:
I just read that Affliction's third event is now scheduled for July 11th. I can't believe they really want to go head-to-head with a UFC event stacked like this one is.
But Bonnar is almost never in a dull fight and he is always competitive. I like seeing him on the card. And the matchup against the old, shot but game Coleman should be entertaining. If Coleman's stamina is at is was against Rua, Bonnar destroys him.
it doesn't make any sense......unless they have something MEGA in mind that would even eclipse this card.....and i am struggling to think up what that may be.....Fedor-Godzilla?
I think Affliction knows they're never gonna survive, so they're probably doing this as one last F You to the UFC. Affliction has been doomed from the start. TFK
From what I've read Fedor and Barnett will possibly be on the card but against other opponents. For the life of me I can't understand why they'd do that.
TFK has got to be right, but the problem with that logic is sure, the UFC will maybe lose 25-50,000 ppv buys but Affliction's numbers will be crazy bad. Ever heard the saying "bite off your nose just to spite your face"?:kick:
as well as the card, the price will be interesting....they'll have to seriously under-cut the UFC price to have any chance of making a worthwhile impact....otherwise, clearly, they are doomed for the much greater embarassment perhap the date is just being touted as an attempt to irritate UFC, without any intention of actually going ahead with it....but then that would give Dana plenty of ammunition......i hate that guy, but they are making it too easy for him
Mayweather may also be coming back that night. I know many don't believe it will hurt the UFC buys... but I'm one example of a person who would never watch cage fighting when the best boxer in the world is fighting. I'm not sure how many others feel like I do.
