I mean literally buggered him--bent him over and gave him 3.5 inches of whiteboy humiliation.

All of them were equally embarrassing. Maybe have to give a slight edge to Pavlik though. But not by much. Obviously of course each fight had a different factor for what made it embarrassing.

I never thought the Oscar fight was bad for him. Seemed more of a fixed fight, than anything embarrassing on Oscars part.

I always felt Trinidad's fans and Rican pride were more punked/embarrassed by his loss, then anything else.

But I would have to give the slight edge to Pavlik being beat by BHop. Not by much, but I always felt BHop was Pavlik's version of "Corrie Sanders". He absolutely had nothing to gain in the fight if he won,and he had everything to lose if he lost. Pavlik will never live that fight down until he rematches BHop,and beats him.

maybe Tarver...as Hopkins was coming off 2 losses and moving up 2 divisions

the others are a case of bigger fighter beating a small fighter

Of course.:warning: But the truth is that even I as a big Trinidad nuthugger was praying that this fight would get cancelled because I knew (and I am sure Trinidad's dad & manager also knew) that Tito had only a remote chance of beating Hopkins. I said his dad too because as his manager many times he dismissed a fight with Hopkins and was looking only with a fight with Joppy. Don King convinced ($$$) the Trinidad's to enter the middleweight tournament thinking that Tito would beat Hopkins. That is why Papa Trinidad was rooting for Holmes to beat Hopkins and initially had second thoughts to put Tito against Bernard after Tito beat Joppy. I knew Tito was too small and not strong enough to take out Hopkins and before the fight started I was telling all my friends that Tito was going to get beaten. Sadly I was right. :crying:

what????....u dont even believe that SHIT....if Papa Trinidad/Tito's manager thought Hopkins would beat TRINIDAD they would've moved on to straight to the JONES fight....forgetting about the Middleweight Tourney...

Everybody in camp Trinidad thought it would be an easy fight...and that Trinidad would KO Hopkins...

If there was any doubt of Trinidad beating Hopkins....team Trinidad would have CANCEL the fight....and w/ 9-11 happening that would've been EASY....

Do a google search. Papa Trinidad was at first reluctant of putting Tito against Hopkins since and I quote "we believed it before and we still believe that Joppy was the best middleweight in the world". (The Ring magazine February 2002). Hopkins felt insulted by these statements and that was when the trash talk started, but they had signed a juicy contract with Don King to go til the last fight to decide the sole unified middleweight champion and the Sugar Ray Robinson trophy winner.

I remember what Papa Trinidad said about Joppy being the best middleweight and everything...but at NO TIME where they looking to pull out of the fight..they were confident that Trinidad would KO Hopkins....

Everybody in Trinidad camp was sure he would win...even Don King already had Trinidad name embedded on the SRR Trophy..

IF Papa Trinidad or Don King thought Hopkins had any chance at beating Trinidad...they would have cancelled the fight after 9-11...why risk 15-20 million dollar PAYDAY fight vs. ROY JONES...to fight let keep it real a BERNARD HOPKINS who at the time was a nobody in boxing....to the non hardcore fan..

Too bad there's no "Other" category choice because I can't think of anything as embarrassing on Hopkins' list as the Joe Lipsey KO. Lipsey looked like he was thrown from a boxcar. Add to that, the KO retired him for good, and it doesn't get much worse.

Although Tito trying to march on the spot after losing every round and then getting slugged and then pushed unceremoniously to the canvas was pretty embarrassing. The KO master getting KO'd was pretty embarrassing.

Initially I was going to say Tarver becauase Hopkins came up 2 WEIGHT CLASSES to give him a one sided ass whippin. Pavlik and Trinidad were both coming up in weight and even though both guys were heavily favored to win, its still more embarassing to lose to a guy coming up in weight than to lose to a guy whos weight class you are invading.

Oscar was coming in weight too but the way he went out was just despicable. It was so blatant and then the show he put on after the fight was over, pounding the the canvas and cursing as if he was really mad that the fight was over.

I've been hit with bodyshots in the gym too and I will tell you they do hurt and if it lands right, you will be on the floor for a while trying to catch your breath. But come on people. Look at the replay and lets be honest. B-Hop's fist was not even TURNED IN to the punch. He caught him with the edge of the glove and you can plainly see that the contact was anything but clean. I cannot see how THAT particular blow did so much damage when the following week of that fight, Trinidad landed a REAL bodyshot to Mayorga's gut and he showed the heart to get up and take his beating like a real man.

Oscar's balls shrank the moment Hopkins even threatened to turn up the pressure. That right there is humiliation.

but he was not a p4p top fighter. Trinidad was the biggest star in boxing (or one of the top 3) and Hopkins pwned him.

    Riddle me this...

If Papa Trinidad felt that Joppy was the best middleweight in the world, then why was he scared of Hopkins? If Joppy was the best Middleweight in the world, then he must have been thought to be better than Hopkins by the Trinidad camp, right? And since Tito squashed Joppy without any difficulty, why would the Tito camp be wary of Hopkins who they (according to you) perceived as a lesser fighter than Joppy?

I think Joppy should be on the list, I mean, does anybody remember his face after that fight? This isn't really the best pic, after the fight it was much worse.

    TRINIDAD...TRINIDAD...and MOTHERFUCKING TRINIDAD.....

This motherfucker goes on ripping your mini flag from your hands and slamming it to the ground...across the country from cali...to your 2nd home in new york...to your birthplace....you go on and on about hurting him..getting all mad....he tells months in advance how the fight between you two develop...he would take everything from you..blah..blah...he fucks w/ your mind before the fight making you re-wrap...not that it would've made a difference....you look like an ass winging left hooks into mitts being held by your papa..left hook..left hoook..then Salvador son' goes on to groan like that shit was hurting him.....sabertooth goes on too clown you in front of your fucking crowd....it's not like he beat your ass in Vegas...in front of a bunch of cocksucking gamblers...but he beat your ass in front of your own people....and at the end they only thing you were able to do is slam your hands on the little podium and point at someone..."you better tell him to stop..." ...or...."look he did it again...".....

Joppy took all that extra brain damage/punishment just to win an extra $50-100,000 from Hopkins...by staying vertical all the way...

In terms of only what happened in the ring they're all pretty close. None of them were very competitive, except for Oscar and that was only for a short period of time.

It's the buildup what i think sways things in Tito's (dis)favor in terms of embarassment.

He was considered by a lot of people to be the best P4P and DK already had Trinidad's name engraved on the SRR trophy. He was supposed to demolish Hopkins and challenge Roy for total supremacy.

Instead Bernard threw down Tito's flag, completely dominated him making him look like and amateur, and to top it all off his Papa had to rescue him.

Afterward hundreds of Tito nuthuggers stopped posting on message boards because they couldn't handle the crow they would have to eat.

I think all of these things make Trinidad's loss more embarassing than losing after trash talk or a big age difference.

Without a doubt, the way Oscar went out was the definition of humiliating. If I am a fighter it is more humiliating to quit like Oscar than get beaten soundly for 12 rounds.

Tarver by a mile ... Especially with his destruction of Jones and trash talking. Bernard made him look like a punk.

No one with a brain expected Trinidad to do shit and Oscar gave a decent fight until the body shot.

    More...revisionism..

sure there were a lot of Trinidad nuthugger running around saying Trinidad would KO Hopkins easily in a few rounds...and such...but most experts also pick Trinidad to win.....he was a 3-1 favorite in Vegas...very few poster in boxing forums at the time were picking Hopkins...

say 10% were picking Hopkins....8% of them were making the pick cause they hated the Trinihuggers so much...

Hopkins vs. DE LA HOYA fix fight from beginning to end...Hopkins allowed Pollo to save face for a few rounds....when was the last time you saw Hopkins fight sooo cautiously...? Throwing maybe one or two jabs..even though DE LA HOYA looked completely outgun anytime Hopkins let go of more than 2-3 punches at a time...HOPKINS WON an OSCAR for his performance..:crafty: De La Hoya was nominated for 2 Razzie awards for his role...worst actor...worst screenplay...
