    Revisionism ???

I said no one with a brain picked Trinidad. I didn't say there weren't idiots that thought he could win.

    Not even close...Tarver.

I still remember Hopkins' line at the weight...Tarver's talking crap, Hopkins says...

"I saw guys like that in D-block takin' it in the ass all day."

Thats like saying nobody expected Jeff Lacy to do shit against Calzaghe. Most people figured Hopkins was gonna get KTFO.

Yeah, that's a bit like the Gatti Mayweather fight, no one with a brain thought Gatti would give Mayweather any problem.

Anyone who says it was easy to pick Hopkins in that fight is just full of shit plain and simple. Tito was the favorite and the majority picked him to win that fight.

I picked Corrie Sanders to beat Wlad by KO. I'm not kidding either, it was in a prediction contest. No way in hell would I call anyone stupid for picking Wlad who was a heavy favorite in that fight.

    More revisionism ....

You must have been one of the geniuses that picked Tito.

My prediction almost exactly for the Mayweather / Gatti fight was ...

Mayweather is the easy and obvious pick but Gatti might do better than most think.

Then Gatti went in there and forgot everything he learned with McGirt and tried to rough up Mayweather by trying to use his face to block punches.

My prediction for Hopkins / Trinidad was laughter at anyone picking a rusty blown up hasbeen in Tito. And when people kept talking about Trinidad KO'ing Hopkins I argued on what basis seeing as Hopkins had never been close to being KO'd with just about anyone for his entire career ... and he was far to crafty a boxer for Tito who'd been rocked by just about every decent fighter.

Thinking Gatti could box with Floyd Mayweather was 1 of the stupidest things I ever read. he had exactly a 0% chance of winning that way.

First off, maybe you need to read the thread... My entire post was about how much joy I had watching hopkins pick apart Trinidad exactly as I had been screaming he would in the months leading up to the fight. So, WRONG AGAIN PASTRE (shocker)

secondly... Trinidad was a has-been at that point??? I believe he was rated in "The Ring" as the POUND FOR POUND NUMBER ONE FIGHTER IN THE WORLD... so I have no idea what the heck you are talking about there

Finally... Gatti couldnt do ANYTHING against Mayweather, he had NO CHANCE... everyone who has even a passing knowledge of boxing KNEW this to be true... If he had tried to "box" Mayweather, he would have beaten even worse!!! He went in there and tried to be defensive and he still go smacked in the face at will because he is not in Mayweather's class, he is not and never was a great fighter. Yhinking that Gatti would do well to try and BOX WITH FLOYD MAYWEATHER is one of the STUPIDEST observations ever made by anyone. It ranks up there in the pantheon of idiotic observations you can name (along with qwerty's "Joppy Lost because of the ring", esk's "the better man lost" and wRONg King's "2 rounds apiece with 8 even"
