    Freddie says:

"He promised me that he didn't do it. He asked me if I would train him and take him over. He swears to me that he didn't do it; he had nothing to do with it. He feels like the year off is going to hurt him badly...I'd like to believe him...I think he's telling me the truth...I did call the commission and asked them if we could have another trial in six months and with me being his trainer, being the sole trainer, and with my reputation, maybe they'll be lenient," stated world-class trainer Freddie Roach as he revealed that he was willing to be the new trainer of Antonio Margarito and would stand by his side in front of the California State Athletic Commission when it comes time to appeal his suspension.

What does this say about Freddie? I mean if he really believes the guy, that's one thing; but can you really be a fighter and not tell that your wraps are basically a cast? I think Roach is selling out for the money. Plus, didn't Roach's own brain damage come from his fights in the ring? If so he's selling his fucking soul for the money. You'd think a guy like him would have been one of the more vocal guys against Margarito and the whole handwraps fiasco. He should have been one of the main guys crying out for changes in the sport. But nah, I guess he was too busy training Pacquaio and making that money.

I'd much rather fight a guy with plaster paris on his wrap ( can it even hardens quick enough for it to be effective in a fight ?? ) than some roid out superhuman freak. Sure Margarito is a pos and should be banned for life, but everyone caught with roids should be too. And since no one think this way and the rules aren't made like this either, I see no reasons why Margarito should be punished more than other who were caught cheating.

REED's two favorite guys in boxing join forces.

Roach is a great trainer but he's full of shit, Arum must have thrown him some scheckels to keep him on side.

Indeed, Roach seems like a hypocrite too me, and not because of this matter particularly.

Roach was bashing him like crazy right afterwards now he is training him.
He is the one of the biggest fucking sellouts in the sport, so no big suprise.

I don't know Roach but I can reconstruct the following scenerio:

Roach is a guy who likes fighters.... Guys like Toney who are a poisin pill at times get along with him because he essentially at heart likes the guys.

Naturally if you like people you want to give them the benefit of the doubt, and why not? I can relate... Just as Roach has worked with fighters when I worked with high school kids it was the same thing, when they did something stupid I would try to help them, give them the benefit of the doubt when possible and straighten it out, rather than punish and harass them.

So margarito comes to Freddie and is obviously sorry about what he did and Freddie with his big heart says to himself "ok let me give this guy a chance he learned his lesson" I can actually understand it and I don't really disagree with it. I don't think Freddie is doing it for the money.
