Who wins? Wlad would be the favorite and would probably win, but Tua was able to carry his power into the later rounds when Wlad could be starting to tire.
Wlad 994 out of 1000. Much lesser boxers troubled Tua a great deal. Assuming Wlad fights theway he has done lately and paces himself (instead of attacking Tua), we would box to a pretty easy decision
I agree. But what makes this match up interesting is that Tua is dangerous in the later rounds. Wlad would need to be focused at all times...if he starts to coast in the later rounds due to a big lead...Tua could turn the fight around with one shot.
Which Tua makes a huge difference. The one that eats a cheeseburger between rounds gets his face smashed in and wouldn't be able to see come the 12th.
Wladdy was on his ass 3 times vs a poor man fat man Tua. The tua that ran through contender after contender, before he sat down on his ranking wainting for a title shot, would be at the very least very live vs glass jaw Wlad. IMO, Tua koes him in the mid round after taking some early round pasting.
::your objectivity never fails. Peter also had much more reach (to to land to the back of Wlad's head). The Tua you are talking about had trouble with Izon, Maskaev and Wooden none of who were contenders at that points
Tua's too placid to force the issue. Probably all the fucking estrogen in his system from being 30% body fat. Clear, easy, boring decision for Wlad.
It's you who's not objective at all considering Wlad. And I'm far from the only one noticing it. Tua of the mid 90's would have fucked fat ass Peter ( the man who Tua'd himself faster than Tua ) easilly yet you claim that it's an easy fight for Wlad, wich Peter obviously wasn't. Wlad does terribly vs small tough opponent with granite chin and ko power ( Peter and Brewster and Tua was league above both ).
The David Tua that fought Ike...would eventually KO Wladimir....8 out of 10 x the Tua that fought LL would lose to Wladimir..but still had that punchers chance..if Peter can have Wlad down 2-3 times late in the fight..u know Tua can do it..and KO him....
I am probably not the most objective person with Wlad, I admit that. I think he gets underrated so much that somebody has to stand up from him as anybody doesn't want to give him any recognition at all. Tua was better than Peter for sure, but he was not the Tyson-clone people now remember him as. Also, Peter was not a small guy (and let's not forget he did lose ten out of twelve against Wlad, despite the knockdowns). Brewster was, and Wlad fought a stupid fight there. In the rematch he didn't have much trouble
Neither were very capable of dealing with a jab. The problem for Tua is, he can't fight ugly as well as Peter can. Peter's much better at hitting before/during/after breaks...which were really the only times he was dangerous against Wlad.
