Well it is not like Haye was the most deserving challenger out there either (even though he is the exciting one)so naturally the champ will tell the terms
And after all that, if Haye is still champ he will be required to face both Wlad and Vitali at the same time in a handicap tag team match.
It's possible that Haye could become discouraged by Wlad's cautious, turtle style, and hard, accurate jabs. But I still think he has less bitch in him than Tua, he'll end up getting dismantled and taken out, but at some point he is going to go for it, far more than Tua ever did against Lummox.
That is exactly how I see it going, Haye will lost patience and make mistakes but if he does win Id love to see Haye fight Valuev
....if Haye is gonna go out, he'll go out in style....i don't think you'll see him quitting on his stool. For one he doesn't have the durability to be able to take much sustained punishment, but two, because he has an enormous amount of self-belief, he's never doubted himself.....and that goes for his trainer Adam Booth too....their confidence is unshakable
I wouldn't say Tua is a bitch. He tried hard against Lewis and Lewis was far too big and skilled for him. When a smart fighter like Lewis has a size advantage that big and is motivated you can't do shit.
I was always a Tua fan, but honestly he bitched up. It was NOT an easy task, I understand that, for little Tua to get inside of big, cautious, jabbing Lemon - but he couldn't have gone for broke. He just accepted defeat early on, and never took any risks to try and KO Lewis.
Like u idiots here the setanta people are raving about the contract rules of having to fight 3 Klitschkos in a row... The one guy even asks why did u sign it haha... those are the three biggest paydays available. There is no other heavyweight Haye would like to fight but (oooh the bad Klitschkos would not let him). Some people should try to think first, before raving about that shit. In fact Haye himself since he'S smart is laughing his ass off at that - getting a guaranteed 3 highest paydays of his career and being able to play the "Klitschkos put him under slvae contract" card on TV.
No matter how much you Klitshko pom pom girls would like to minimize it, this is exactly the kind of behavior that hurt boxing and why a lot of people don't like the Klithskos. Your nuthuggery is really high if you don't see how this is wrong. It's a real shame that such contract are still allowed in boxing, I thought the Muhamed Ali act ( yes I know it's only valid in the states ) banned these practices but I still see them apply all the time even in the US.
I remember the Klitshko's saying they wouldn't make business with King because King wanted options on them if they won vs his fighter ( something King alway's denied if I'm not mistaken ), now K-2 is doing their business in a way that is even more shaddy and outrageous than King was RUMORED to do.
I'm not saying it's good for boxing since it prevents other fights from happening but in this case the only nuthuggers are people who think Haye is a victim or feels like one. Plus it's a rematch which isn't really a big deal for a voluntary defense and then the Klitschko which are the best fights to be made in the heavyweight division so even that argument is nonsense here. Has nothing to do with nuthuggery - you guys just have to realize that in THIS case there are no losers, not Haye, not his wallet, not the fans...
Wow.. You actually agree with that? Yea there gonna be his biggest pay days but he should be able to decide if he wants to fight them afterwards.. I can understand a rematch clause but the third fight is crazy...
does this stipulation show how wary of Haye the Klitschkos are?...i imagine rematch clauses have been included in the past, but i can't recall them doing anything like this.....surely if they had done, we'd know about it. By insisting it is in the contract, they are considering the Haye beating Wlad TWICE as a plausible scenario.
there were rematch clauses for almost every fucking non mandatory defense in boxing over the last years even with opponents who were big underdogs - so did the champ really think he could lose ONCE... It's not about plausible but about possible and taking no risks. You guys are really reading too much into it.
sure i want Haye to fight them both he wants to fight them both and if he was able to decide who to fight it would be exactly those fights. It's not crazy at all.
I just don't think he liked the fact that they forced him to sign a 3 fight deal like that and I agree with him.. I'm sure he was gonna fight them anyway or at least fight Vitali afterwards but I think he would have liked for it to be on his terms not theres.. Like I said I can understand the rematch clause but making him sign a 3 fight deal was too much..
yeah good point: the only other option would be for haye to take some tune-up fights against tony thompson etc., which nobody wants to see. haye v klits are the only fights that haye should be taking, and, if haye wins, they're the only fights that klits should be taking. what's a concern is that this bargaining power may be abused later on - when there are other deserving contenders and yet the klit name gets them these monopolized rematch clauses. but in this case there's no cause for fans to gripe.
.....tell me another case when if boxer A beats boxer B he is contracted to beat boxer B again AND THEN beat boxer C
this is what haye wants, anyway, to face the biggest challenges available before retirement. and after watching that deutsch video where vitali punches haye on the shoulder and steals his hat, i hope we do get to see them in the ring together... the klits really are despicable, and vitali looks like he smells of piss.
it may be what he wants, but what is wrong is that he has no choice....if he didn't agree to this, then the fight wouldn't be happening. The Klitschkos wouldn't budge on it.
Amazing that their's a clause that he has to fight big brother if he mange to beat baby bro. It seems like high school bullshit. And Royness, as of now, sure it looks like these matchup ( Wlad rematch followed by Vitaly if Haye wins ) are the one that make the more senses for Haye and the hw division. But let's say if Haye blitz Wlad, or beats him widely in a snoozer, and that Vitaly lose badly to Maskaev or Arreola in the meanwhile, especially Arreola as he's an exciting young undeafeated guy, ( it won't happen but let's say it does ), now we are struck with 2 more unwanted matchups.
absolutely agree... but let's hope it doesnt play out like that. I don't think Maskaev could beat a sleeping Vitali...
The abuse of contract clauses is a real problem in the sport, and this is certainly a good example of it. The business of boxing sucks, it's easily manipulated, one of the more interesting developments in recent is years is that now that boxers have their own promotional companies they're among the ones doing it to other boxers. Rather sad, but not unexpected.
