This is a tough fight to call ... Williams has never faced anyone like Winky but definitely has the skills to be one of the few to take Winky out.

Based on the way things usually work with younger fighters and money replacing fighters at the end of their career ...

    Split decision for Williams.

    Actual fight is a pick'em.

I agree, but Williams takes away the SP advantage Winky usually enjoys and should maintain a big enough work rate to give the judges the reason to pick him.

I worry about his experience as well. But IMO the upset is a Williams win.

    Either way ... close fight.

No. That's a long time for an aging fighter like Wink to sit on his ass.

That's why Williams is "favored". This is the kind of fight where I'll have a better idea after the first round. I honestly have no idea what Wink will bring to the ring tonight.

    Yes.

    I don't think he's boring as much as I think he's a whiny bitch.

I actually think he benefits from the break. So long as he's stayed in shape, which it looks like he has.

You're right. It will be interesting to see the first couple rounds to see if Winky gets into a rhythm or not.

Winky/Trinidad was a piece of sh*t. Every single Trinidad fight, whether he won or lost, had some replay value. Nobody ever touched their Trinidad/Winky tape after it happened. Garbage fight and a pathetic effort from Trinidad. Hopefully Winky gets KTFO and retires. He's bore galore!
No charisma and a sh*tty style to watch. Almost as bad as Chris Byrd.

Williams wins by narrow decision after outworking Winky, who will probably land the cleaner crisper shots all night and take much of Williams' work on his gloves (at least when he isn't making him miss) but won't do enough to persuade the judges in a slow, tactical sort of fight which most casual fans will find deathly dull to watch.

everyone has their preference. to me wright is an exciting fighter despite not having heavy hands. the following fights were exciting:

vasquez, simon, mosley 1&2, taylor, hernandez, and vargas.

REED Wouldn't Call Wright "Exciting", but he Somewhat Agrees...Winky DOESN'T Move Alot, he's Usually CLOSE to his Opponent AND He has a HIGH Workrate...Even Though he CAN'T Punch a Lick, it's NOT Like Winky is Cory Spinks or Somebody...

I dont know if I would call any of those "exciting" per se, I think they were compelling but not exciting

Wright has little to no punching power and his insukated defense means he doesnt take very many shots, not does he avoid them in a visually pleasing way. He's very much like a primitive video game to me, just block, then punch, then block, then punch

Dont get me wrong, its damned effective and he is an excellent fighter, but there isnt a whole lot od drama there.

I think this fight will be no exception, a whole lot of punches but with not a lot on them. Was a "Sucra" Ray Oliveira fight exciting?? I suppose, if it means lots of punches, but there wasnt any real drama, just action

It'd B VERY Good for Boxing if Paul Williams Wins DECISIVELY Tonight...REED Can't See him KO'ing the Wink, but Hopefully Williams is a CLEAR-CUT Winner....We'll Get a TRUE Sense of Whether "Sitting Down" on his Punches has Truely INCREASED Williams KO % or Not...We'll Also See if he's IMPROVED Defensively...The Wink CAN'T Punch, but he IS Accurate...

1 Thing's for Sure, BOTH Guys Throw ALOT of Punches, so it Should B Entertaining....AGAIN, REED's Official Prediction is Williams UD, but REED ISN'T Expecting Williams to B DECISIVE, Necessarily...
