Said Ouali, 25-2 (17), Las Vegas, NV (from Morocco) Age: 30 Ht: 5'10" Wt: 146 Selcuk Aydin, 17-0 (14), Turkey Age: 25 Ht: 5'7" Wt: 146
R1: Said let Aydin dictate the pace. Said looked flatfooted, was caught against the ropes. Aydin coming fwd. Not using the jab much. Switched to southpaw for a split second and landed a big left. Aydin 10-9
R2: Aydin controls the pace. Coming fwd with combos. Ouali landed some nice counters in the last minute. Some fireworks after the bell with Aydin pushing Ouali. 20-18 Aydin
Ouali opens up with aggression. Landed a BIG right hand that hurt Aydin. Aydin closed strongly landing some nice uppercuts as he had Ouali against the ropes. Close round. I think Aydin closed strongly enough to win it. 30-27 Aydin
R4: Nice counterpunching in the last minute by Ouali but other than that Aydin has him against the ropes just swinging on him. I have it 4-0 but the fight still seems close. 40-36 Aydin
R5: Oauli opens up stronlgly again landing nice combos. Then lets Aydin take over and pepper him along the ropes. Aydin is wiping his nose with his inner forearm like it bothers him. Oauli has the right idea but just doesn't keep it up for long enough. 50-45 Aydin
R6: Aydin down on a slip at the minute mark. Then comes fwd and opens up on Ouali. Ouali just not doing enough. Low blow at the end of the round by Aydin and Aydin is deducted one point by Tony Weeks. 59-54 Aydin
R7: Aydin comes fwd. Pushes Ouali to the ropes. Ouali countering but not near as often as he's getting hit on the ropes. 69-63 Aydin
R8: Ouali had his moments again but didn't sustain anything. Aydin came fwd but was a little less effective. I scored it even. 79-73 Aydin
R9: Aydid taking it to him. Bullying him into corners and into the ropes. Ouali landed some nice punches in the last ten seconds of the round. 89-82 Aydin
R10: Ouali starts strongly, opening up with nice flurries. Aydin tries to answerby rallying against the ropes. Ouali turns it back around cathces Aydin with a nice uppercut in the middle of the ring. I gave Ouali the round. 98-92 Aydin
First Aydin lost a point for low blows, he scored it 10-8 Aydin, then corrected it. Then he says he has Aydin ahead by 2 points. He gave Aydin the last round and now it's a one point fight. Fucking goggle eyed twat.
this is a fight that could be either way for me, but I have a feeling the judges will have it wide for aydin.
I scored it 117-111 for Aydin. Ouali waits until the 12th round to show he can beat the aggressive style. 117-111 Aydin
I try not to score only for effective aggression but a fighter has to win the round by showing he's just as effective countering or that the aggression is not getting to him. In a lot of those rounds, Ouali looked to be the superior fighter in the middle of the ring for 45 seconds or so. But then leaning on the ropes letting Aydin hammer him for half the round, I just couldn't give him some of the rounds even though they were somewhat close. To me, he wasn't showing me that he was overcoming the aggression of Aydin.
