I'm surprised this matchup isnt being mentioned more(maybe cause Hatton-Pac is only two weeks away), but I for one am very much looking forward to next week! I think Taylor-Froch is gonna be a good ass fight... I'm taking Taylor by decision.... if he stays smart. His jab, and handspeed should be enough to outpoint Froch, but Froch if nothing else is strong, and has above average pop, so the chances of him pulling an upset are there. Still, I'm picking Taylor.

    Predictions?

    Too close to call...

Taylor is an underrated, former elite level fighter who did to Hopkins what Pavlik palpably failed to do (i.e. at least compete) and was forced to move up in weight because he had nowhere else to go after losing his titles to Kelly and then losing the RE. he is entirely unproven at 168, having beaten what is left of Lacy and having done nothing much else. If he has plenty left and is genuinely accustomed to the weight then he should have too much for Froch IMHO.

Froch is such a difficult guy to measure. What is certain is that he is about one-tenth as good as he evidently THINKS he is but that is no real gauge as to how this fight will go. He seems to have good power but he hit Pascal flush with plenty and couldn't get him out of there, despite Pascal having a questionable chin. Moreover, Pascal hit Froch with plenty of good, flush shots and at one stage Froch visibly stiffened and was saved by the bell and a sharp recuperation. He is extremely hittable but also seems fairly durable. He lands plenty of shots but might not hit enough. Too many imponderables...

The safe pick is Taylor by decision in a close, well contested and absorbing fight which Froch will come into late after he realises he can't outbox Taylor by about halfway and decides to risk it and go for broke.

Yep agreed, although I do like Froch for some unGodly reason haha.
I hope he does well, and if he does win I will be happy. I just can't see it happening...
Though if Froch is to win it owuld be by outworking Taylor in the defensive spots Taylor tends to get in.

Going with this, mainly beacuse I think Taylor is going to live up to his other nickname: "bad decisions."

No bad decision will be needed. Froch's defensive liabilities will be exposed in this fight.

Taylor UD. It will be a tough fight, but i see him being too quick for Froch early on, exposing Froch's defensive flaws. Froch will have success, and may manage to hurt Taylor, and i expect him to finish the fight strongly.....he's a strong super middleweight and Taylor has faded late in the past.

Taylor by closeish UD. His hand speed should be enough to take advantage of Frochs open defence. However I would not be surprised at all to see Froch win. Taylor has scraped by against fighters in the past who I could see Froch beating. As MTF said before, no one is quite sure just how good Froch is, he's a property developing weirdo.

Yes indeed,..yes indeed, :crafty: ,..with one slot to his titanium granite jaw, he froze up, and his souless eyes bulged, and his robotic arms turned into desperate pinching pedipalps, he was about to GO,.aahhhh haaaaaa.... it happenned in his fight with Robin Reid aswell,..he magically transforms from posturing like a smart arse, to holding on for dear life,...there is no better example in boxing, when it comes to absolute delusional fraudery,...and this weekend, should be a laugh, there wont be a fighter so owned in recent memory,...since perhaps, Edison Miranda and warriors boxing,... after the KO and some settling in the ring,...I wouldn't count out Froch running up to Jermaine and having a bewildered post-fight swing either, he'll be so fucken owned he'll have no choice really.

I must say though,..as much as I dislike Froch,..I do have to give him credit for fighting the best and forking over his paper belt to Jermaine Taylor right away,...Froch is delightfully delusional, and for once an infuriating preposterous trait in all of low-life british hooligan scum, has produced an accidental derivident that's a good solid service to boxing, and it automatically inflates more appeal into Taylor's 'unification showdown' with Mikkel Kessler later in the year, a fight inwhich Taylor shall also win, but this time, it wont be like taking candy from a baby, he'll have to train for it.

Jermaine is headed for the throne, he is hall of fame bound, and BITTERLY underestimated around here, it's disgraceful really for a soul as nice as his, a kind've 'puffy animal' nice who could host childrens television programs,.. but he's the object of sheer scorn,..all because perhaps he defends himself legally?, is more country than Roy Jones will ever be?, and incidentally, unravelled all the illegal counter-traps aka 'legendary old school tricks' and exposed Hopkins as a coward who soley takes advantage of opponents trying to make the fight using a web of fundamentally illegal impliments?,..Well, once Jermaine becomes unified champion,..look first of all, I do like Kessler,..but lets face it, you turn on the heat,..work him up close,..move up and down a little with a bit of secular work to the body, especially with Jermaine's ultra quick hands, and you have Kessler skipping back tilting his head from left to right all night,... such is the limitation of his European style. Then,.. with the prestige of Jermaine's new position as the king of 168, it should attract Pavlik into accepting a rubbermatch where Taylor gets his priorities right, and doesn't feel the need to 'prove he's durable' to a crowd who are always going to hate him regardless,..it was uneccesary to stand directly infront of the larger, stronger man and headbutt his fists the way only a unicorn should,..yes he pulled it off in a way, but had he boxed in circles and taken advantage of Pavlik's pot-plant footwork, I mean, the rematch was a draw slugging it up with the venus flytrap,..so naturally with just one single bit of new implimentation it should easily tip the scales into Jermaine's favor, if you twist the pot to face the sunshine, it cant bite what was infront of it anymore.
Then when that's avenged,.. why not give Hopkins a final arsewhipping for the road?,...have the waves of satanists bawling in unison just one more time for the checkout?. Fuck, Im thinking well beyond Froch,.. this fight doesn't even count.

It's good to see two fighters who are relatively the same size fighting for the championship for once,..Jermaine is probably a 'little' bigger overall, but as you can see, despite Froch having wider child bearing hips, Jermaine is still prettier, How does that work unless you're gay?..

J.T. has some reach for a former mw! "78" is long armed. "76" is among top at LHW. J.T. is going to shoot his bow and arrow right at the sheriff of Nottingham all night. Carl has taken some solid shots from b class guys. He should make it a entertaining fight!:mj: Taylor TKO7

They left out the little black bar pointing to Jermaine's cup with 15" where appropriate,.. 3" for Froch. Carl hasn't always taken those B class shots very well Oates,.. it could be Jermaine's first stoppage victory in quite some time,.. by the sounds of his preperation and his determined frame of mind,.. he may just pop this axelotal.

I do think you'd beat Froch aswell Oates,..

All Jermaine's other opponents kind've 'put thier hands up around thier heads' a bit,.. Froch is in denial, he wants an iron chin and wants to display that iron chin in the same way Calzaghe wants ultra quick hands,..he didnt have them, could never quite aquire them,.. and Froch enhances his bluff by wrapping his opponents up with a shocked face after getting snagged. Taylor wins by ko, anybody else who doesn't think so, is a racist white-boy who should be wrist-slapped off this forum.

Calzaghe had ultra quick hands. And don't give me any of this 'slappy' bullshit either. Kessler and Roy were marked pretty bad from Calzaghe's 'slaps'. Lacy went down and so did Eubanks- both of whom have, at worst, very good punch resistance.

Oh, and Kessler wipes his ass with Taylor if that fight happens. I'm a JT fan, but he gets stopped by Kessler in the middle rounds...
