Posing with that shirt of himself standing over the dead bodies of both Klitschkos and holding their heads. Right in Wlad's face!

Why do I get the feeling that Haye will become an answer to this future topic:

"Which fighter talked the most shit before a fight in which he was soundly defeated?"

Haye looks like a little kid next to Wlad - In a way I hope Haye beats Wlad so Dr. Iron Fist can really beat him up.

I find these beheading pictures a bit disturbing to be honest. I like David Haye but you get the impression he liked to harm little animals as a child

Yeah, he seems like he was one of those types of kids. Inflicting pain is his ambition in life. Makes sense that he'd become a boxer.

"I came here not just with Wladmir´s head but also with Vitali´s to tell him I am coming after his whole family. This should tell his brother that he better start training.
“Could I take both out on the same night? Yes, I could. Maybe Vitali can jump in and save his brother. I will get Vitali to throw the towel, he will save his brother.

“Wladimir, you will get your backside kicked so badly he will have to pick you up from the floor and carry you out of the ring.
“I will dispose of the whole family. I could beat them on the same night, but I will take out Wlad first and Vitali after that.
“Maybe Vitali can jump in to save his brother. But he looks old and grey now.
“Unless Wladimir gets his chin transplanted, he will not get to the 12th round. It will not happen. He has a mental weakness.
“In previous bouts, he got hurt by people who were not supposed to hurt him. I will expose his heart and his chin. When it gets rough, he goes down"

I like Haye, but he's not a HW, and Wlad will remind him of that.

This is boxing, a gladiator sport. This is a sport where you are supposed to beat the shit outta your opponent. Who gives a rats ass if he has a t-shirt on with his opponents head on it. The best thing about is that both cats have to back the shit up. I'll Holla 5000

So is trying to punch you opponent in the face. The one thing about boxing is that you get a chance to handle that shit in the ring. I'll Holla 5000

'Lightning' Lonnie Smith showed up to a press conference with a pic of Julio Cesar Chavez lying in a coffin. When his shit talking at the podium didn't get a rise out of Chavez, he decided to try to rush Chavez. As his handlers held him back, Chavez laughed in his face with no concern about Smith getting to him.

Then fight night came and Smith had a terrible showing, including running from Chavez and kneeing him in the groin while in the corner taking body shots. Chavez said he was a coward who didn't deserve a title shot.

As of now, I have to say that goes to Mayorga pre-De La Hoya knocking him the fuck out.

I would say Vargas was worse, because Vargas was really serious about his trash talk.

Vargas was competitive for 10 rounds, including shaking DLH with the very first punch he landed.

Mayorga talked a gang of shit about killing DLH, calling him every name in the book. Calling him a faggot at the commercial shoot.Saying DLH will piss his trunks when he feels his power. Going after him at the presser and even talked shit in the stare down in the center ring. Only to come out in the first round and get put flat on his ass with a left hook. He was NEVER in that fight.

Well, wouldn't you agree that Vargas was "soundly defeated"?

Mayorga was pretty automatic with his shit talk... everyone got it. It was never personal.

Wlad is too polite and reserved to do anything. If Haye knocks Wlad out and rubs it into Vitali´s face, I´m not sure what happens.

That's a good one. I would also put Rahman up there for the Lewis rematch. Rahman was trash-talking at every opportunity, called Lewis gay, got into a pre-fight interview scuffle with Lewis, tried to get into Lewis' dressing room shortly before the fight and ended up nearly decapitated with one punch by Lewis.

Rahman did everything he could to try to intimidate Lewis and/or get into his head, but it backfired dramatically for Rahman as it just seemed to make Lewis more determined and focused.

Yeah, but if I mention Tyson in this topic I will be stuck with two days of fending off childish and pissy attacks from Jaws and other Tyson huggers. I'm not sure I have the time in my schedule to deal with that.

But since you asked...Tyson did act like an idiot heading into the Lewis fight, but I still don't think he was as diligent as Rahman about it. I got the feeling that at times Tyson was just going through the motions with his pre-fight antics because that was expected of him. You think he would have learned from Rahman's failed attempts to rattle Lewis.

Rahman had already beaten Lewis and so he could use that as some kind of advantage. Mayorga truly thought he was "too much of a man" for DLH then got used as a punching bag in round 1 and went back to his corner thinking "Why did I talk so much shit for six months?" He was reminded in the first minute of the fight that he really didn't belong in there.

Yeah, but everyone and his brother (except for LOK) knew it was a flukey KO and Lewis was most likely going to get his title back in the rematch. There were some folks who claimed they thought Rahman would win, but I suspect that was wishful thinking on their part. The bottom line is that Rahman did every single thing he could to get under Lewis' skin and he received a one punch KO loss for his trouble.

The right hand set up that hook perfectly, and when Oscar landed that elft hook, Mayorga had a look on the canvas that said, "WTF was THAT?"

To tell you the truth, I can't remember Oscar ever landing a hook with meaner intentions.

I dunno, I remember there were plenty of commentators who thought (perhaps wishful thing from US-based writers) that Lennox was on the slide, that Rahman was young and powerful and would be even more emphatic second time round. It has to rank as one of the most satisfying KO's I've watched.

I thought anyone who picked Rahman to win the rematch was a fool... he was the luckiest SOB in heavyweight history

The best part is that Lewis's KO of Rahman was far more spectacular and brutal (complete with the poetic picture of the Don king 'crown' fixed atop his head as he lay prone on his back) than Rahmans admittidetly fantastic one-shot of Lennox

No one beat Mayorga's ass more convincingly than Oscar De La Hoya

That was brutal and fun to see. I'm hardly a DLH fan but I was a fan for that night, very enjoyable asswhoopin

My favourite by miles. I'll never forget the cameras cutting to Rahman, beating on Lewis' dressing room door pre-fight, promising to 'beat Lewis like a dog'. Cue immediate cut to Lennox, sitting in absolute silence, having his hands wrapped and staring ominously into the wall straight ahead...

...Fifteen or so minutes later, Rahamn is KTFO by one of the sweetest left-right combinations I've ever seen. Classic.

    MTF
