Along the lines of the thread regarding Glenn Johnson's dismantling of RJJ, do you think before knocking Rosario out that Chavez out-boxed him? Or do you think, as REED would have you believe, that he just, "beat the shit out of him?" That's assuming that REED will respond to this thread in a consistent manner, which I guess isn't a given seeing as how RJJ isn't involved here.
dude, you can not compare the brutally accurate torture that Chavez inflicted on Rosario to the "busy doing nothing" aggression of Trinidad for SIX MINUTES against Roy Jones
Despite cdogg being a complete ignorant fool who don't know shit about Tito or his fight with Roy, one thing I will say is that HE'S RIGHT, in that you can't compare these fights. Chavez Outboxed and Pounded Rosario. He beat him to the punch, worked him on the inside, and broke his will. Trinidad for 5-6 rounds was working Roy when Roy would lapse in his attack, which is normal Roy when you press him. Cupey
UNlike Glencoffe Johnson, Julio Cesar Chavez Actually has a HISTORY of Aggressive, POCKET "Boxing"...There was INFINITELY More SKILL & SCIENCE to Chavez's Approach than Johnson's...Apples & Oranges... REED:hammert:
chevez roughed hi up on the inside, smothering him with short accurate punching while making him miss on the inside.
A Classic! Chavez-Rosario is an underappreciated ring classic of the 80's, one of my favorites! It was a classical fight, Cupey and Ron King made great and accurate points. There was no doubt in my mind that Chapo would finish Chavez off as he was coming off of a spectacular win over tough as nails Livingstone Bramble, and I thought Chavez was tailor-made for a sharpshooter like Rosario. IMO, that was Chavezs' greatest night as he was brilliant, beating the hell out of Rosario under and over, to both sides underneath. There was one point in the fight that Rosario backed up to the ropes, using the ropes to spring forward, would up with a right hand OUTSIDE of the ring, hit Chavez flush in the mouth with it (and Chapo was a murderous puncher) and drove Chavezs' head back but Chavez never even stopped punching in combination, I've never seen anything like it. Very few lightweights in history could have take JC Superstar that night, and I lost a bet to my boss.
Only lightweight in history at that weight that had a chance against Chavez on that night would have been a prime 135 pound Duran on his best night...only fighter that would have beatin him... Oh yeah...and that fuckhead Whitaker too...dammit... haha
I know more about Tito than you do, thats why I am not clinging to his testicles calling him a "legend" like you
