How do you rank Manny as a fighter in this generation?

    I'd say he's safely #1 or #2

How do you rank Manny all-time?

I think he cracks the top 20.

Manny already cracks the all time top 10. I can't think of 10 fighters that were both better than him and had a better record.

He is truly one of the best fighters ever.

I think its better to wait until a fighter's career is over or he is no longer any good to rate him in this manner

but right now Pac is the man P4P no question

I don't know about any of this or that, but Pacquiao would have taken down M. Bison and Shan-Tsung in minutes. Thats a bad man right there.

MWS, I think you are right.

I just feel my pinoy eyes may be clouded by the excitement of the past few years so I am trying to restrain myself.

But I think saying Manny is Top 10 all-time wouldn't be far from the truth.

As Larry Merchant said, "He reminds me of the immortal Armstrong."

All this praise for beating the biggest hype job ever Hatton. Come on now only total idiots thought this was competitive.

I agree, but if he beats Mayweather he is the best ever. I know some book readers will say Robinson and not to disparage him, but Manny has quietly put up and litered the weight classes he has been in with corpses.

oNLY mANNY can beat Manny at this point, meaning his out of the ring stuff and possibly the DEATH OF Freddy Roach.

Also props to Marquez. I feel he lost both fights. The first without question he was dominated, but the second could have gone either way.

Not only would Manny walk through M Bison, but I think he'd trash Balrog too.

Guys, I know this may sound kind of feminine, but I honestly tear up a bit thinking of all the people who will be helped by Manny's $12 million dollar purse from this fight.

Manny is an all-time great fighter, but in terms of his heart, he's an all-time great GIVER.

So many more kids will be able to get higher education, food, and health care because of Manny. I'm kind of emotional right now.

I agree. I can see that Manny is a very very good fighter, but I never felt comfortable calling him pound for pound best, and even if he is it's more a reflection of the lack of truly great stars that have replaced many of our fading ones.

This shit happens dozens of times. We see Forrest destroy Mosley and think Forrest is a baaad man. Then we watch Mayorga destroy Forrest and think he's a baaad man. Remember all the hype those 2 got after those wins? Remember how great many of you thought Margarito was after Cotto? (though Reed wasn't fooled) Then look what happened.

Like I said Manny is very good, but let's not forget, Hatton had the perfect no defense hands at his chest style for a KO 2 to happen to. Also don't forget that both of Manny's wins against JMM are still being argued over to this day. Manny may have won ONE of those fights, but he has yet to truly beat JMM.

I guess it proves that Floyd's 2 biggest wins of his career against DLH and Hatton were complete jokes?

What on earth are you on about? Are you insane?

You're acting like this is the first good fighter Manny has beaten.

He's beaten Barrera, Morales, Marquez, De La Hoya, and Hatton. All of them by KO except Marquez

He is one of the best fighters ever.

When did i ever give Floyd credit for beating Hatton? Beating Oscar means alot for both Manny and Floyd. Oscar is a HOF fighter.

I remember saying back in the day under the name Piccadilly at secondsout.com that this guy could beat Barrera and shock the world, in no way could I have ever dreamed he would go so far beyond that moment that it would seem such an inconsequential milestone on his CV. he is absolutely ridiculous, a freak of nature, and boxing is in a fantastic state as long as he is active. god bless manny pacquiao!!

It meant something to Floyd. He retired on the Hatton fight, acting like there was nothing left to prove and that his legacy was set. All the while, there was Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, and Williams there for him. Now his best wins are looking very very ordinary. And people stopped giving a crap about him the day he left. He's run out of money and is making a comeback against a smaller man.

LOL at smaller man. Marquez arguably beat Manny in their rematch and Floyd is fighting him. Pac should have been fighting Marquez again instead of whack ass Hatton.

I don't know, man. He's definitely proven his greatness. Maybe I'm just tripping because honestly I could see him going unbeaten from here on second thought. I could even see him KOing Floyd since Floyd is kind of chinny.

Another gem I agree with. Is this a leap year? WTF?

What's crazy is,you would think that all of these wars Pacman has been in,he would be getting shot and war torn little by little with each fight. But just the exact is happening to him!

Chinny might be overstating it, but Judah, did drop him although Floyd never appeared hurt. Chop Chop seemed to hurt him though.

I can't exactly say Floyd's chinny but I wouldn't trust his chin against Manny at all. The only reason I'd still pick Floyd is because he's so damn good at protecting his chin and his ring smarts are the equal to what Manny is physically. It's the most underrated part of Floyd's game.

I remember they asked Floyd what his best attribute in the ring is and I love the answer he gave. "My smarts." I think Manny would be easy to figure out if Floyd survives long enough. On the other hand he may figure Manny out just from watching video of him. Manny is a physical freak not a technical one. That's why his fights against JMM are so fucking awesome, you're watching the best physical freak going up against arguably the most technical one.

The freakish thing about Manny is that he looks the same fighter in every weight class he's ever fought in. His power and speed are EXACTLY the same from 122-147.

Not only are his wins decisive over top opposition, they are DOMINANT. He dominates top opposition which is why he is an all time great.

He's one of the best fighters ever no question.

You and Manny do not eat the same types of food. For one thing Manny is fit and you are the exact opposite. I'll Holla 5000
