That was the best episode of 24/7 yet IMO. Floyd Mayweather Sr is the most entertaining human on the planet. I really liked the feature on Shane Langford. Just a great epsiode.:bears:
This show is so much better when someone from the Mayweather family is in it. Preferably Roger or Floyd Sr.
....i think a tv show called The Mayweathers would be bigger than The Osbournes...it would be amazing
U have 3 assholes..roger/floyd/floyd sr....two of them who are comically advance..and one who is just an plain asshole...
"What do you want to drink?"-Taco Bell "Can you put tomatoes on that"-Sr "This is Floyd Joy Mayweather Sr so believe me when i tell you his ass is in trouble"-Sr "Im in the glory now"-Sr as he shows off his 6 pac "Freddie the joke coach Roach got a mule this right here is a otalion stallion" Floyd Sr is the man.:bears:
He is sort of funny, but he is just an incredible asshole as well and I have hard time getting past that Its odd, Jeff Mayweather seemed pretty pleasant when he was around, but the other three are a trio of nearly unmatched assholeishness
After the cockiness, Mayweather Sr. is actually a relatively pleasant guy to be around too. He has alot of appreciation for the old timers and their training techniques despite having (what was once considered) unorthodox techniques himself. And if you look at the trash talking, he's never really out of line or over the top when it comes to dishing it on fighters.
I didn't think it was a great episode. The main difference between the two camps...Roach and Moorer seem to be working on strategy, Mayweather's focused on teaching a routine on the pads. The first two episodes showed Moorer and Roach drilling into manny to throw combinations inside of Hatton's wide hooks, getting low, pivoting away then leaving a parting shot. Hatton might do well early, but if he regresses to coming straight in he's done.
I disagree. PC: I know you we're in Mississippi, so I don't know if you got a chance to watch Gatti/Gomez, but my question is, do you think Arturo Gatti is Hall of Fame material? FM: I'm going to be honest with you man, the way they play the game, I think he's going to be Hall of Fame material, but he ain't Hall of Fame material. He is a straight up bum. That's what he is, a straight up bum. He's just like Freddie Roach, the trainer. Freddie Roach is in the boxing Hall of Fame as a trainer. Freddie Roach is a joke. He's in the Hall of Fame for training right now. You know why he's in the Hall of Fame? Eddie Futch used to go with his mother and that's how he got in there. He got in off of Eddie's name and to tell you the truth, a lot of guys that they say he made, Eddie Futch didn't make them. He didn't make Joe Frazier. Yank Durham made Joe Frazier. I will tell you this man, Freddie Roach is in the Hall of Fame right now for training and he should be in the Hall of Shame. Gatti should be in the Hall of Fame for getting his ass tore up. Getting the shit whopped out of him, that's what he should be in the Hall of Fame for. He don't have no business being in there for nothing damn else. He should be ashamed to show his damn face. Everybody whooped this motherfucker half to death. Angel Manfredy whooped Gatti. You know, the one my son fought. Manfredy opened up his eye to where you could stick your whole fist in it. Let me tell you something about Gatti man, Gatti been done since 94. I went to prison in 83 and Gatti been done since 94. Been done! He then went past 2004 and now in 2007. That man was done before my son got a hold of his ass. Gatti should've stopped 14 years ago. He got famous for bleeding from the head, ass and everything else. You make sure you put that in there. Gatti's going to go to the Hall of Fame and he should go to the Hall of Shame for taking ass whoopings. Put that just like I said it. All he do is get his ass kicked. His ass should've retired 14 or 15 years ago.
I think you're right but a couple of things could be added. The training footage we saw is not necessarily everything that was done. Secondly there is only so much a trainer can change with a guy like Ricky considering his style and age.
